PSL – MATCH 30 – ISLAMABAD UNITED VS KARACHI KINGS – FANTASY PREVIEW

On the last day of the PSL – season 3 league round and last match of the round, Islamabad United takes on Karachi Kings. Both two teams have been qualified for the play-offs but the result of this match will decide Karachi Kings position in the points table. Match 30 between Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings is schedule to start at 8 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST Tonight.

ISLAMABAD UNITED :

A sudden rise of Islamabad United took them to top of the table with 7 wins out of 9 matches. After managed to win only a game in first 3 clashes, Misbah-ul-Haq and men registered 6 consecutive wins in six matches. Both batting and bowling combinations are working fine for the United and they have ensured their place at the first play-off match as finishing at top of the table. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq didn’t contribute much as a batsman but he brought all his experiences to lead the team at right way. The arrival of England power-hitter Alex Hales boosted the team much more. Former New Zealand wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi and all-rounder JP Duminy opens the batting for United and both of them setting up a solid start for the team. Ronchi used to explode all his guns from very first ball and the hard-hitter already scored 3 big half-centuries in last 5 innings. On other side, Duminy takes his time to settle down then he going for big runs in a second half of the innings. Alex Hales started his PSL stint with 46 off 33 balls earlier this week but he was slight disappointed with an innings 16 runs last night. We could expect some good batting show from the top order batsmen of Islamabad United once again. Pakistan domestic players Hussain Talat and Asif Ali taking care of middle-order batting with their responsible batting performances. Both of them are contributing runs consistently in last few matches and hope for similar performances from them once again later tonight.

England all-rounder Samit Patel has been used as a specialist bowler only in this season. The United didn’t give him an opportunity to bat inside top 4 till now. There could be no surprises if they send him at no. 4 or 5 in the batting order, tonight. Samit Patel did his best with 7 wickets in last 3 matches. Hopefully, more wickets are expected from him in this last league match. All-rounder Shadab Khan continued to bowl an economical spells but he didn’t pick wickets in every match. Team sends him up in the batting order sometimes and he responded well with some useful runs. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf contributing with either bat or bowl in every match. He goes for quick runs at an end overs and bowls very crucial spells in middle-overs. Last night, Faheem has claimed 3 for 19 runs in his 4 overs spell. The experienced Mohammad Sami and Amad Butt are other pace bowlers of Islamabad Untied. Sami used to bring all his experiences and bowls very decent spells every time. As United are qualified for play-off, there are some chances for them to test their bench strength in this game. Therefore, we can expect at least one or two bench players to get their opportunities tonight.

KARACHI KINGS :

Karachi Kings which started the season with a hat-trick of wins, lost 4 out last 5 matches and slightly out of tricks right now. The arrival of England captain Eoin Morgan should boosts the batting order, but unexpectedly, batting unit collapsed completely in the last game. With an overseas batsmen Joe Denly, Lendl Simmons, Colin Ingram and Eoin Morgan – it’s tough decision for the team management to pick a right combination. As both Denly and Ingram dismissed for zero respectively, either one among them would make a way for Simmons who scored a fine half-century on his last appearance. There are plenty of expectations on the in-form Eoin Morgan, hopefully he will fulfill those expectations tonight. Pakistan’s sensation Babar Azam is playing a lone hand with the bat in last three matches and he scored three consecutive half-centuries. His form is the key factor for the team but he needs a good partnership from his teammates.

An importance of Ravi Bopara started to fade away as he didn’t contribute much in last few matches. He failed to utilize an opportunity yesterday and departed for just 7 runs. The star of the team, all-rounder Shahid Afridi has a huge role to play in this game. Afridi was slightly expensive in the last game but he compensated it with his power-hitting. He smashed 4 sixes in his 8 balls knock other day. The team requires a big all-round show from this Boom Boom Star Afridi. Mohammad Rizwan takes care of wicket-keeper’s job and also offering some decent batting knocks in end overs. Skipper Imad Wasim was rested in the last game but he is expected to play tonight. He bowled real good spells during power-play in past games, hope for another good show from him in this crucial game. Mohammad Irfan Jnr. was too expensive against Zalmi yesterday because of that, Kings might bring Tabish Khan on the expense of Irfan. Usman Khan and Mohammad Amir are a front-line pace bowlers and both of them had a great outing yesterday. Especially, Usman Khan bowled an amazing spell to claim 3 for 11 in 4 overs. If these two pacers bowl a stunning spells once again, Karachi Kings would possibly win this game and face Islamabad once again in the first play-off.
