The table topper Quetta Gladiators set to face bottom of the table Lahore Qalandars in the next PSL match on Wednesday night. After six consecutive defeats, Lahore Qalandars now has two back-to-back wins and they eye on third win in a row. On other side, Gladiators have won 5 out of 8 matches and dominating the tournament at the moment. Match 26 between Quetta Gladiators vs Lahore Qalandars is schedule to start at 8 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Wednesday, 14th March 2018.

The perfect batting and bowling combinations and the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed helps Gladiators and they are ready to face Qalandars with a hat-trick wins on their back. England opener Jason Roy who just completed his national duties is available for this match. With his arrival there could be some changes in Gladiators lineup. If they decide to strengthen their batting, Jason Roy will come on the expense of bowler Ben Laughlin. Otherwise, he will replaces either Kevin Pietersen or Rilee Rossouw, both of them are having mixed season in this year PSL. As Jason Roy is expected to open the innings along with an experienced Shane Watson, other opener Asad Shafiq might go to bench. If there is no Ben Laughlin, then they mostly bring pacer Mir Hamza on the expense of Asad Shafiq. In case, Roy replaces one of the overseas batsman, Shafiq might keep his place in the XI. Shane Watson’s batting power and decent bowling attack are the key for Gladiators. Watson uses all his experiences and scoring run innings after innings. He also doing a good job with his pace bowling and picks some crucial wickets at crucial times.

Kevin Pietersen has two back-to-back good innings for his credits in last two matches. But Rossouw struggling to score runs quickly and he is yet to score his first half-century in the season. Rameez Raja Jr. cemented his place after his quick cameo against Sultans last week. But he managed to score only 1* and 9 runs respectively in last two matches. Still, he will play this game and possible chances for him to go for some big shots. Finally, Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed had a good day with the bat and won man of the match award for his unbeaten 45 runs in the last game. He returned to the form at right time and boosts rest of the squad. After bowled several good bowling spells in the season, the left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz went for runs in the last match. Apart from that one game, the bowling all-rounder had bowled really good spells in rest other matches. The other left-arm spinner Hasan Khan also doing his part really well for Gladiators. The Pakistan U19 captain offering decent bowling spells in middle-overs to push back on his team’s favor. Rahat Ali and Anwar Ali handling the job of pace attack and they are playing a very decent role for Gladiators. Both of them are doing well at the moment and no wonder if each of them picks at least two wickets in this game.

Six straight defeats spoiled the play-off hopes for Lahore Qalandars and now, the team which has nothing to lose defeated two strong teams in the competition back-to-back. Qalandars are playing a role spoiling an opponents dream by winning matches. The outstanding bowling effort of Shaheen Afridi (5/4) brought the first win for Qalandars. Then, Agha Salman’s half-century and Sunil Narine heroics in Super Over gave them a second win. Brendon McCullum didn’t disturb the winning combination in the last game and they have won that game too. Therefore, McCullum and men are expected to go with an unchanged XI once again. The arrival of an all-rounder Anton Devcich is playing a big role at Qalandars top-order batting. He is contributing with quick runs but he didn’t bowl much overs yet. We can expect Devcich to come with an all-round works in this game. There are lot of expectation on Fakhar Zaman and he somehow live up to the expectation. But still he has lot more to do in remaining two matches.

Agha Salman’s good show with the bat pushed captain McCullum to middle-order and Salman is playing a crucial role in Qalandars batting. His calculative half-century helped the team to tied the match against Kigns and to win that with super over later on. Skipper Brendon McCullum is offering some explosive and quick knocks in last few matches and he adopted to the position no. 5 in the batting order. He led the team to the first win of the season with his unbeaten 35 runs against Sultans. The real problem of Qalandars is the batting in middle-order. Sunil Narine who like to play an attacking shots failed to execute his plans in last few matches. He is doing a pretty good job with the ball as usual, but the team wants him to do something better with a bat too. Sohail Akhtar keeps the place at 7 and playing little cameos for the team. Sohail Khan had some troubling moments in between but he came back stronger in last two matches to claim a tally of 4 wickets. He is one of the experienced campaigner in Qalandars bowling unit and he will lead the pace attack. The left-arm pacers Shaheen Afridi and Mitchell McCleneghan have a job to do to assure a hat-trick wins for the team. The leggie Yasir Shah will take care of middle-overs with his quality leg-spin.
