The famous Sharjah International Cricket Stadium begins it’s second leg with the clash between Multans Sultans and Islamabad United. Multan Sultans heading to their final clash in round robin with three consecutive losses on their back, meanwhile, Islamabad United have won four matches in a row. This will be a must win game for Sultans to keep their chances in the play-off. Match 25 between Multan Sultans vs Islamabad United is schedule to start at 8 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Tuesday, 13th March 2018.

Multan Sultans who ruled points table with series of wins, now lost three matches in a row and they should win this game to hold some hope at the play-off in their inaugural season. Sultans made a mistake by sat out Umar Gul match after match even after he claimed a six wickets haul in his only appearance. The team combination was so good in the first half of the tournament. Both batting and bowling department did their best job to win matches for the team. But both batters and bowlers failed to perform in last three matches and in result, Sultans lost all those three matches in a row. Shoaib Malik led-side should bring best out of them to win against red-hot form United. The senior player Kumar Sangakkara keep on producing at top order with good starts. But his partner Ahmed Shezhad not really going well in several matches and takes too much of time to settle. As he wastes so many deliveries in the power-play overs and maintains strike-rate on or less than 100, it create lot of pressure to middle-order batsmen. Sohaib Maqsood who had played some tremendous knocks in between, failed to play long innings in last few matches. He should regain his form to create a momentum for his team.

The batsman known for consistency, skipper Shoaib Malik failed to play big knocks in last two innings and dismissed for scores 3 and 6 runs respectively. He is the backbone of Sultans and he is expected to give his best to keep play-off hopes alive. The star all-rounder and T20 specialist Keiron Pollard also didn’t offer much in last few matches that also caused a losses for Sultans. He might promote up in the order to play an aggressive innings in this game. He also needs to deliver with his part-time pace bowling. Sultans might had enough with Saif Badar. So, they may give an opportunity to other batsmen in the squad. That case, Shan Masood would get earn his opportunity. Sultans tried Ross Whiteley and Darren Bravo in middle-orders but both of them failed to perform. The young explosive batsman from Caribbean Nicholas Pooran didn’t play a single game yet. Therefore, he might get the game on the expense of pace bowler Hardus Viljoen who bowled an expensive spell other night. The pace battery of Sultans fading away day after day. Mohammad Irfan and Sohail Tanvir delivers somehow better than Junaid Khan. As they must need a service of Umar Gul in this game, Junaid might make a way for him again. The leg-spinner Imran Tahir will continue to keep his sole specialist spinner place safely.

The champions of the inaugural PSL season, Islamabad United is back on track with four continuous victories and sits very pretty with 10 points with three matches to play. After registered only one win in first three matches, United changed their fate by winning last four matches on a trout. The experiences of Misbah-ul-Haq playing a huge part in United’s hot form, even he didn’t perform well as an individual. The new opening combination of senior overseas players JP Duminy and Luke Ronchi working out really well for Untied at the moment. Ronchi who struggled a lot in early matches, started to play his aggressive cricket and already scored back-to-back 70+ runs knocks at monstrous strike-rates. If he gets going again, then he will frustrate Sultans bowlers for sure. JP Duminy managed to score at run-a-ball in almost every match but then he turned out against Zalmi in the last match and smashed an unbeaten 73 runs. Duminy could surprises all with his part-time bowling too. Finally, Asif Ali exploded and scored 45 runs off just 24 balls in the last game. He should continue with the same form to set up a monstrous total.

The batting all-rounder Hussain Talat keep on doing a good job with the bat and he had played several good knocks in the season. He could play one more cameo in this crucial clash. Islamabad United didn’t utilize the batting talent of Samit Patel fully. He used to play lot of match-winning innings for various T20 sides that he played in 2017. At some stage he will get his opportunity to bat up in the order. He bowled really well in the last game and settled with 4 for 34. No wonder if he comes with 3 or more wickets in this game too. Shadab Khan continue to bowl an economical spell in almost every match. He didn’t pick many wickets in this year but his controlled spells affects the run flow of an opposition. Faheem Ashraf takes care of all-rounder’s duties by scoring runs quickly at lower middle-order and also with wicket-taking bowling spells. The left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar had played his first match of the season in the last game and he had bowled an impressive spell straightaway. Gohar picked 3 for 25 runs in his 4 overs other night. As Steven Finn was expensive in recent matches, United may strengthen their batting with either Alex Hales or Sam Billings who are available from here on. The senior bowler Mohammad Sami will continue to offer good bowling spell once again.
