The host Sri Lanka meets Bangladesh in the last league match and the winner of this match will face India in the final. With one win each, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh battles for a must win to seal the place in the final. When these two teams met last time, Bangladesh chased down record breaking 215 runs successfully. Match 6 between Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh is schedule to start at 7 PM Local | 7 PM IST on Friday, 16th March 2018.

SRI LANKA :

Sri Lanka are in must win position to keep their pride high and to make a home crowd happy. This tournament is happening to celebrate 70th Independence of Sri Lanka, so they have to bring their A-game and should book a place in the final. Thisara Perera and his men are under tremendous pressure right now. Sri Lanka started the tri-nation tournament with an impressive win against India. But then, they faced back-to-back defeats against both Bangladesh and India. With an in-form batsmen like Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera, the top-order looks very solid in Sri Lanka’s batting unit. Both Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera has struck two half-centuries each and their strike-rate were very impressive. Mendis has scored 11, 57 and 55 runs respectively and expecting some more quick runs from him in this crucial semi-final kind of clash. Meanwhile, the wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera has played well in a first two matches and scored 66 off 37 balls and 74 off 48 balls respectively. Unfortunately, he was dismissed for just 3 runs against India in the last game. He could be back with another explosive knock in this game. The one-half of opening pair Danushka Gunathilaka got a good start in all three innings but he failed to account it into big scores.

The most experienced and senior batsman in the squad Upul Tharanga bats at no. 4 and he already played an impressive knock against Bangladesh last week. He used to take time to settle down, once he start to go for runs then he will play a big knock for sure. Without captain Chandimal, middle-order looks little bit unsettled at the moment. Stand-in captain Thisara Perera didn’t offer much in all three innings. He departed for golden duck against the same opponent last time. The all-rounder was failed to shine with a ball too, he managed to claim only a wicket in 3 outings. Team definitely want him to play a key role with both bat and bowl in this game. Dasun Shanaka yet to play a big innings in middle-order position. He should score runs quickly at middle and end overs. All-rounder Jeevan Mendis had bowled an expensive spell quite often in the series and managed to pick only 2 wickets in 3 matches. His place might be in some kind of jeopardy and if he misses out, Dhananjaya de Silva could probably replaces him. After struggled a lot in the first two matches, Akila Dananjaya had bowled an wonderful spell to claim 2 for 19 in the last game. Hope for few more wickets from him in this big game. Sri Lanka played with triple pace bowling options of Chameera, Lakmal and Pradeep in the last game. Among three of them, Pradeep alone picked a wicket and all three of them had bowled an expensive spells. Lankans unlikely to make a change ahead of this must win clash.

BANGLADESH :

After win the match with record the fourth-highest run chase in T20I history, Bangladesh fall 17 runs short against India last night. With a win and two losses, the Bengal Tigers should win this game to take on India in the final. The captain and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan declared fit and he joined the team ahead of this semi-final match. The arrival of Shakib boosts Bangladesh and we may witnesses that vibration with their performances on Friday. Liton Das opened an innings in last two matches and he probably hold on the position safe for this game too. When these two teams met last time, Das has scored 43 runs off 19 balls at 226.32. He didn’t play a long innings against India, but capable of to play an aggressive knock again. The senior opener Tamim Iqbal had played back-to-back good knocks but the team wants to play much longer innings. He is well talented and calculative batsman who could play a match-winning innings in this game. Twin 72 runs knocks makes the wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim as a hero of the team. First, he struck an unbeaten 72 runs off 35 against Sri Lanka followed by another 72 runs off 55 balls against India in the last game. With the form he is in, you can pick him as a captain or vice-captain of your fantasy teams.

As Shakib is available for this game, Bangladesh will cut-off one spinner from the XI. The off-spinner Mehidy Hasan was bit expensive in all three matches but he mostly keep his place safe based on his little experiences than Nazmul Islam. Shakib bowls left-arm spin, other left-armer Nazmul is expected to make way for him. Sabbir Rahman had played some decent innings against India last night and that would safe his place in the XI. Abu Hider Rony replaced Taskin Ahmed in the last game as Taskin was very expensive in first two matches. But, Abu Hider also gone in same way and conceded 43 runs in his 4 overs. That means, Bangladesh might go back to Taskin or will take a risk with newcomer Abu Jayed. Rubel Hossain was the best pick of the bowler other night with 2 for 27 in 4 overs. He will retains his place and also expecting to grab few more wickets in this clash. Mustafizur was not at his best against India and remained wicket-less for 38 runs in 4 overs. Still, he remains as the leader of bowling attack hopefully, he will take at least 2 wickets in this game.
