AUS v NZ v ENG - T20

Two consecutive wins puts Australia in the driver seat ahead of their last match of the home season and they wish to finish it off in style. England who won the ODI series 4-1 recently, faced a defeat in the last match couple of days ago. These rivals going for a face-off one last time on this tour on Saturday. T20I tri-series 3rd match between Australia vs England schedule to start at 7:20 PM Local | 1:50 PM IST on Saturday, 1oth February 2018.

Australia faced lot of troubles in the shorter format for a long time but two back-to-back wins in first two matches on this ongoing series brought them back into limelight in the format. Glenn Maxwell’s all around show assured a victory against England in the last match. Maxwell came with a splendid spell of 3 for 10 in 2 overs followed by an unbeaten century with a bat. Fast bowlers Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye were a major reason for the win in the first game against New Zealand last weekend. The major issue in the side is the form of captain David Warner. The explosive top-order batsman scored only 73 runs in 5 innings in the ODI series recently and he also scored only 10 runs in 2 innings so far in this tri-series. Warner is one of the most dangerous T20 batsman and he will come back to form and smash all over the ground at any moment. MCG may be a place for that on Saturday night. Player of the tournament in BBL 7, D’Arcy Short played a good cameo against England and scored 30 runs off 20 balls. The T20 specialist is expected to go for such a big knock in this game. After scoring match winning 44 runs in the first match, Chris Lynn departed without scoring a run in the last game. Still he is dangerous player in this format and he could go back to his red-hot form in this match. Maxwell’s great form continuing in this series, first he scored 24 balls 40 runs against New Zealand and then scored his second T20I century on last Tuesday. He also done his best with a ball by claiming 2 wickets and he may be in full flow once again as he is going to play at his BBL team’s home MCG on Saturday.

All rounder Marcus Stoinis had an average day in the last game. He picked a wicket for 16 runs in 2 overs spell but managed to score only 6 runs at crucial stage of the batting innings. Stoinis is a hard-hitting middle-order batsman and still he stays dangerous at the position he bats. Due to the heavy top-order batting Travis Head moved down to no. 6 in the last game and he lost his wicket for only 6 runs off 13 balls. We all witnessed what he capable when he took Adelaide Strikers to the final and lifted the cup successfully. So he could be a key player in this game and don’t forget his useful part-time bowling will play a key role too. Alex Carey who opened the batting for Strikers in the Big Bash, has a chance to be promote up in the batting order. He is another explosive batsman in the group and he will take care of gloves work. The sole specialist spinner Ashton Agar has bowled very good economical spells with wickets in last 2 games and he has a role to play in this match too. Once again, Andrew Tye will lead the pace attack which has Kane Richardson and Billy Stanlake. After that impressive debut, Stanlake conceded 43 runs in 4 overs in the last game. He will be back to wicket-taking zone this time. Andrew Tye is the key factor and dangerous bowler for the opponents. Richardson may surprises all by taking most wickets possible.

Disappointing batting performances by middle and lower order batsmen were a major reason for England’s loss in their opening match. England were 94 for 2 at one stage then they lost next 7 wickets in the span of 43 runs. All Rounder David Willey bowled very well and picked 3 wicket haul but he didn’t get a good company from any one in the bowling unit. England who are strong side in the T20 format, will be back with good performances in this game on Saturday. Not much of changes are expected in their top order batting. Jason Roy was misfired in the last game and scored only 9 runs. His partner Alex Hales stood in the middle for some time and settled with 22 runs off 15 balls. Both these openers are known for quick start and big hitting. Both are limited overs specialist and at least one of them could play a big innings in this match. Dawid Malan has played only 2 T20Is till now and he scored a half-century in both of those matches. The latest one was came in the last game against Australia on Tuesday. He was the top scorer for England in that match and he could possibly score another half-century. Skipper Eoin Morgan started off very well for his 22 runs. But unfortunately, he got out at the crucial time. Hopes for Morgan to go for bigger and better innings this time.

After scored the match winning century in the ODI last month, Jos Buttler just fading away slowly. He just scored 5 runs in the last game. Team needs the experienced wicket-keeper batsman to play a handy cameo in middle overs and also in end overs. Middle-order batsman Sam Billings didn’t utilize the opportunity which came in his way other day. The young batsman deserves a second change and he will not miss this one out. In case Billings is dropped, James Vince will be the option to replace him. England definitely misses star players Joe Root and Ben Stokes. Root was rested for this series while Stokes has a chance to join the team in New Zealand leg of the series. England should utilizes David Willey’s batting abilities in a better way. He opened the innings for Scorchers in the BBL and played a good knocks too. He is the best wicket-taking bowler in the unit, hopefully will pick more wickets in this game. The leg spinner Adil Rashid played a huge role with the ball in ODIs. He has to bring those similar performances for the team success. The pace attack contains Chris Jordan, Mark Wood and Tom Curran. All three of them leaked runs in the last encounter. Wood picked a wicket at least but Jordan and Curran remained wicket-less. As Sam Curran and Jake Ball are in the bench, either one among Wood or Tom Curran will make a way for them.
