PSL – 8th Match – Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars – Fantasy Preview

After series of matches on last three days, Dubai set to hosts the last match of it’s first leg tonight. Current topper of the points table Karachi Kings ready to play their third match and takes on bottom of the table at the moment Lahore Qalandars. Match 8 between Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars schedule to start at 8 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Monday, 26th February 2018.

Two fine performances allowed Karachi Kings to gain early momentum in the tournament and they eye to make three wins of a trout when they are facing Qalandars later tonight. Very control and dominating bowling performances were the major reason for Kings success in those two matches. Among batsmen Colin Ingram was the only one who scored runs freely in both matches. If Karachi Kings brings their A-game in all departments of the game tonight, they have a bright chance to beat the imbalanced Qalandars. Khurram Manzoor and Joe Denly opened the batting in both occasions for Kings. But as Denly not played his best game in both matches, there will be some chances for Lendl Simmons to replaces him in the lineup today. Manzoor will keep his place at top order. Babar Azam who opened the innings last season managed to score only 12 and 28 runs respectively. He is the most dangerous batsman at top of the order and he could be longer innings in this clash. Colin Ingram strikes at his best and scoring runs quickly at the moment. He is expect to carry forward the same form in this match too. Ravi Bopara was the savior of Kings in past two seasons. He didn’t show his best till now in the current season, hopes for him to come with better performance with both bat and bowl.

Boom Boom Shahid Afridi bowled very decent spells in both occasions and claimed a tally of 3 wickets. Afridi’s experiences in the format is the key for Kings and we could expect much more wickets from him against Qalandars. With a bat, Afridi failed against Gladiators and didn’t bat against Zalmi. Some possible chances for him to come up in the order and smash all over the park, tonight. Skipper Imad Wasim smashed a winning six last night. He led the team from the front with spells of 2 for 19 (4 overs) and 0/21 (4 overs) respectively. The all-rounder is well capable of scoring runs thick and fast too. Left-arm speedster Mohammad Amir was in firing form and claimed two early wickets in Power-play overs last night. Not sure that why didn’t he complete his 4 overs against Zalmi but with the form he is in, more wickets are possible tonight. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan bowled a bit costly spells compare to all other Kings bowlers in those matches. Kings unlikely to shuffle their bowling unit at the moment, but if they do change then Usman Khan will come in for Irfan. England T20 specialist Tymal Mills will continue to be in the XI.

After finished first two seasons at bottom of the table, Lahore Qalandars looked for fortune in this new season. But they were started in a negative way once again in the PSL. Brendon McCullum led-side was completely outplayed in both matches and faced huge losses in those matches. Poor batting efforts and an inconsistent bowling performances caused them both matches in early part of the tournament. The spin magic Sunil Narine was the only batsman who offered a flying start in both occasions. But as rest of the team failed to capitalize the momentum, they have failed ultimately in those matches. When Fakhar Zaman opened the bat and scored a much needed 49 off 30 balls in the first game, Brendon McCullum came at 3 and walked back with out scoring a run. In the second match, McCullum promoted himself to opener position and scored 30 runs off 18 balls while Zaman moved down to 3rd in the order and managed to score only a run. Qalandars should bring back Zaman to openers slot to get a good start in tonight’s match. Narine goes for runs at top order but he was not at his best with a bowl till now. He conceded 72 runs for 1 wickets in combined 8 overs. He is the trump card of Qalandars and once he shines with a bowl, opponents will suffer. No clue why Qalandars keeps the quality all-rounder Anton Devcich on the bench. He probably will make in to playing XI tonight and that move will help them in both departments. Cameron Delport started off well with 15 off 8 balls (2 sixes) but he failed to carry on the innings other night.

As Gulraiz Sadaf completely failed with a bat when he scored 31 balls 13 runs against Gladiators, Umar Akmal is expect to take back a role of wicket keeper. Umar Akmal has played a handy cameo in the first game but managed to score only 1 run in a second. He should be utilize better by the team. Batsman Sohail Akhtar had played a decent knocks in middle-order for Qalandars and he will retain his place in the XI. All rounder Aamer Yamin was drooped in the last game after his expensive bowling in the first game. He is a good all round performer and he will be back to the XI for this game. Pakistan U19 star Shaheen Afridi struggles in his debut season. He remained wicket-less in both matches, hopefully will start his wicket-tally tonight. The leg-spinner Yasir Shah bowled well in the first game but went for lot of runs in the last game. He needs to come with at least 2 or 3 wickets spell to create any chance for his team. Qalandars might drop Raza Hasan who bowled wicket-less spells in both matches. Imran Khan will be a possible replacement for Raza Hasan. Bangladesh speedster Mustafizur Rahman bowled a very good spell to claim 2 for 22 in 4 overs against Sultans in the first match. He bowled only 2 overs in the last game, hope for more usage of him in tonight’s clash.
