Hosts Afghanistan posted 333 runs for 5 wickets in the first game, the same total was posted by Zimbabwe in the 2nd game. Zimbabwe bowled out for 179 runs in the first game and presented a huge 154 runs to Afghanistan while Zimbabwe won the last match with that same margin of 154 runs. Those coincidence wondered Cricket world and who knows what will be on offer when these two teams meets in the 3rd match of the series. Third ODI between Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe schedule to start at 2:30 PM Local | 4 PM IST on Tuesday, 13th February 2018.

After won the first game by 154 runs margin, Afghanistan lost the last game with that same amount of margin and faced their second biggest defeat in the ODIs. Batting, bowling and fielding everything worked out very well in the first game, but nothing gone in their way in a second game. The consistent batsman Rahmat Shah who scored a century in the first game, managed to score 43 runs while other top order batsmen walked back one after other. Spinners did a good job in both matches, but Dawlat Zadran and Gulbadin Naib were conceded too many runs in both matches. Asghar Stanikzai led-side should re-group quickly as they are set to play a third match in the series on Tuesday. The wicket-keeper Mohammad Shahzad yet to play his best explosive cricket since his return. He managed to score 36 in the 1st game and 15 in a second respectively. He is in situation to play a big innings to cement his place in the top order. The young opener Ihsanullah Janat had started the series with a sensible knock of 54 runs. Unfortunately, he dismissed for 2 runs on Sunday. He deserves a chance in the XI and will be back to form with good amount of runs in this game.

The most consistent batsman in Afghan side, Rahmat Shah has a big role to play once again with the bat. He smashed 6 half-centuries and 3 centuries in his 35 matches ODI career so far and he maintains an average of 38.26. Currently, he is in a good form and he is expected to play a match winning knock once again. Skipper Asghar Stanikzai’s poor form in ODI format continues, He scored only 23 runs in his last 5 ODI innings and all at this same venue Sharjah. He led the team well as a captain but as an individual he fails again and again. He should play a big innings to prove his value as an individual. Middle-order batsman Nasir Jamal might lose the place to an experienced all rounder Samiullah Shenwari. Nasir impressed with 31 runs knock in the first game, but his dismissal for duck in the last game may opens the door for Shenwari. After that mammoth innings of 81 runs off 51 balls in the series opener, Najibullah Zadran failed with 3 runs innings on Sunday. Still he remains as a good finisher and deserves a place in the XI, also in your fantasy teams too.

The experienced Mohammad Nabi came down at no. 7 to bat in the last match. He scored a handy 31 runs but that wasn’t enough in that game. He bowled so well in both matches, expecting him to shine with both bat and bowl in this game. Undoubtedly, Spin combo of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Zadran are major wicket-taking bowlers in the series. Rashid bagged 6 scalps in 2 matches while Mujeeb picked 3 wickets. Once again, these two young spin bowlers will play a big role in Afghan’s bowling unit. Back-to-back poor performances may cause Gulbadin Naib’s place in the XI. He has claimed only 3 wickets in his last 5 ODIs and also conceded 85 runs in 8 overs in Sunday’s match. As spinner’s doing a great job, the left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf has a huge chance to replace Naib in the XI and Ashraf could bat well too. There were too much trust on the pacer Dawlat Zadran but his performances in recent times wasted all those things. He conceded 96 runs in his wicket-less spell of 9 overs. The left-arm pacer Shapoor Zadran deserves an opportunity and he will replaces Dawlat in the XI.

A brilliant batting performances by Brendan Taylor & Sikandar Raza and stunning bowling spells by Tendai Chatara and Graeme Cremer helped Zimbabwe to registered the first win on the tour. After losing the first game by 154 runs, Zimbabwean re-grouped and executed their plans well to gain a big victory. The experienced top order player Hamilton Masakadza laid a foundation with 48 runs off 54 balls. His opening partner Solomon Mire who played a handy 34 runs knock in the first game, scored only 9 in a second. Masakadza ran out while he just need 2 more runs for his half-century. If he comes with much better performances and scores big hundred, he will take Zimbabwe to 2-1 lead. Mire is known for scoring runs quickly, once he plays that kind of innings he will help the team to post big totals like he did in Sri Lanka last year.

It was Brendan Taylor’s day, the former captain has scored his first ODI century since his return to the team few months ago. In that well constructed knock, Taylor scored 125 runs off 121 balls with 5 fours and 8 huge sixes. The wicket-keeper batsman has finally played a match-winning knock for Zimbabwe which he did at so many occasions in the past. There are some chances for Taylor to play another memorable innings on Tuesday. Craig Ervine who returned to the XI with a handy 34 runs knock in the first game, departed for 14 off 30 balls on Sunday. He is well experienced player at this stage of his career and he needs to play big knocks to save his place in the team. After that an average first ODI, all rounder Sikandar Raza rocked with a splendid 92 runs knock on Sunday. He faced only 74 balls to score those runs and also smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes. Sikandar is one of the consistent player for Zimbabwe, he yet to bring his best efforts with a ball in this series. But, he would come with match-winning all-round efforts at any time.

Malcolm Waller and Ryan Burl holds their places at n0. 6 and 7 respectively. Waller has played lot of good innings in the past and he is very useful at lower middle-order. Zimbabwe uses Burl as the extra spin option and that would keep his place safe in the XI. Seven wickets in 2 innings for skipper Cremer in this series. As spinners rules bowling department in this series, Cremer doing an wonderful job for his team at the moment. The pacer Tendai Chatara had a frustrating first match, but he came back with strong message and claimed 3 for 24 runs in 8 overs in the second ODI on Sunday. Blessing Muzarabani replaced Kyle Jarvis in the last game and he settled with 2 for 51 runs in 8 overs spell. Brian Vitori also did a decent job with a ball, that means Zimbabwe unlikely disturb their winning combination.
