Two teams will meet in a clash with a goal of winning the title. The final between Northern Knights vs Central Stags scheduled to start at 4 PM Local | 8:30 AM IST on Saturday, 20th January 2018.

The team which started the season with a heavy defeat, won next 7 out of 9 matches and topped the table to qualify for Final directly. The title winners of 2013/14 season, Northern Knights has a great opportunity to win their second title and they are just a win away from it. Knights has named an unchanged 13 man squad which played in the last group stage match on last Sunday. Dean Brownlie led-side chased down the target of 191 with 7 balls to spare in the last league match. Knights expected to go with an unchanged playing XI in the final, but in case if they do change in their XI, then Brent Arnel who conceded 55 runs and remained wicket-less in his 3 overs spell in the last game. But based on the experiences he has, chances are high for him to stay in the XI. The wicket-keeper batsman Tim Seifert and all-rounder Anton Devcich are the regular opening pair of Knights and they will continue the same duty in the final too. Seifert struggled to score runs in last two matches, he was in amazing form in the season hopefully, will regain his form at right time. Devcich in tremendous form with both bat and bowl. He has scored 292 runs with a bat and also taken 12 wickets in this ongoing season. Knights skipper Dean Brownlie bats at no. 3 and he scored a match-winning 86 runs in the last innings. He steps up in crucial situations and he may come with good innings in this final as well.

Knights middle-order looks strong with an experienced of Daniel Flynn and Daryl Mitchell. Flynn who had poor outing in the first half of the season, found his form and played several match-winning knocks in recent matches. On other side, Mitchell shines with both bat and bowl. He has 236 runs with a bat and also took 8 wickets in 8 innings he bowled. Brett Hampton used to score runs as quick as possible for Knights, once he get going will add lot of runs for the team. Finally, Nick Kelly has scored 27* runs in the last game. Those efforts will keep him safe in the XI, in case Knights goes for a change then BJ Watling will get a game. English all-rounder Chris Jordan plays a good role in Knights unit. He will possibly play a key role with a bowl and his quick scoring skills helps to finish the innings in high note. All-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn has a big role to play in this big game. He generally bowls and bats well for Knights, hopefully will offer a big performance in this game. The 39-years old Brent Arnel was too expensive in last three league matches and remained wicket-less in all three of those. There are some possible chances for Brett Randell to replace the veteran. Ish Sodhi, the no. 1 T20I bowler in the ICC rankings will play an important role once again in Knights bowling unit.

A thumping 36 runs victory against Auckland Aces in the Preliminary Final presented Central stags a second straight final in the Super Smash seasons. Last year, Stags settled with runners-up tag but this time they have an opportunity to lift the title after 7 seasons. Stags has added the fast bowler Adam Milne as 14th member of the squad. Including that preliminary final, Stags now has a four match winning streak in the competition. Jesse Ryder who started the season with a bang, dismissed for single-digit scores in 5 out of last 6 innings he played. He should find a form at right time in this game. The batting all-rounder George Worker has a big role to play at top of the order. He was misfired in the last game but he has all the potential to score big runs in this game. He is also very crucial with a bowl, whenever he comes to bowl he use to pick wickets and that helps fantasy players to earn more points. Captain Will Young plays with responsibilities and always comes with handy knocks for the team. He scored 326 runs in 10 innings so far. The experienced Tom Bruce has played a quick cameo of 28 off 13 balls in the game against Aces 2 days ago. His contributions were terrific for Stags in this year. His scores in last four innings were 42, 59, 46 and 28 runs respectively.

The wicket-keeper and middle-order batsman Dane Cleaver came up with a big half-century in the last game. He scored much needed 54 off 33 balls and also took four catches behind the stumps. His contributions will be crucial for Stags in this big final. The young Josh Clarkson failed to contribute with a bat in last several innings. After played well back-to-back good knocks in first few matches, Clarkson managed to score only 47 runs in last 6 innings. He may make a way for other youngster Christian Leopard for this game. Ben Wheeler who has been selected for New Zealand T20I squad for the series against Pakistan, is available for this game. After lot of poor performances, Wheeler started to shine with both bat and bowl in second half of the season and he used to play handy cameos with a bat match after match. If suppose Stags release him for the national duties ahead of this game, Adam Milne will take his place in the XI. The left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel plays a very big role in Stags bowling unit. He has claimed a tally of 13 wickets which includes a three-wickets haul in the preliminary final on Wednesday. The front-line pace options Seth Rance and Blair Tickner bowled an outstanding spells in the last game against Aces. Rance had taken 3 for 22 while Tickner picked 2 for 14 in 4 overs spell. Rance has picked three-wicket hauls thrice in last 5 innings and Tickner leads most wicket-taker chart with 20 wickets in 10 innings this season. Lot of match-winners are there in Stags squad and addition of Milne will add more power to the unit. If Wheeler remains in the XI before leaving to national duties, Milne will replaces Bevan Small in the XI.
