Knights hosts Cape Cobras in Kimberley tonight in the 24th match of Ram Slam T20 Challenge. The home side Knights at 4th in the points table while Cape Cobras at 2nd spot right now. The winning team will move much closer to Knock out stages. The 24th match between Knights vs Cape Cobras scheduled to start at 6 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Wednesday, 6th December 2017.

KNIGHTS :

Knights lost their most recent game to Titans by 5 wickets and they are currently at 4th place with 12 points. Theunis de Bruyn led-side has won 2, lost 3 and 2 other matches ended in no-result. Generally, Knights used to reveal their 13-man squad prior to the game but this time they didn’t make any announcement. With that we could assume that Knights will go with an unchanged 13-man squad which announced for the last game against Titans. The wicket keeper batsman Rudi Second was back in the side and dismissed for just 2 runs in the last game. He will get a second chance and will open the innings along with Keegan Petersen who scored a half-century against Lions last week. Theunis de Bruyn and David Miller are the backbone of this batting unit and both of them playing well too. David Miller, the T20 specialist playing consistently for Knights this season. The all-rounder Ryan McLaren started to perform in last few games and he will continue the good work in this game as well. Grant Mokoena moved down in the order and played some handy innings in the last game.

All-rounder Aubrey Swanepoel was back in the XI and did a good job with a ball where he claimed 2 for 20 in 3 overs. But he has to step-up with a bat in lower middle-order too. The pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk scored some useful 16 runs in the end overs and also picked a wicket for 30 runs. The team wants him to take more wickets in this crucial clash against Cobras. The leg-spinner Eddie Leie had a quite good season but he had one poor game on Sunday. He remained wicket-less in that game, hopefully will come strong in this home fixture. Mbulelo Budaza continue to impress with the economical bowling. He used to pick wickets too and no surprise if he come with a spell of 2 or more wickets tonight. Duanne Olivier had some good day with his spell of 1 for 31 in 4 overs. Marchant de Lange and Patrick Kruger were the other two in the squad and sat out in bench. Marchant de Lange has a bright chance to replace Duanne Olivier in this game.

CAPE COBRAS :

With 3 wins and 3 losses in 7 matches, Cape Cobras is safe at second place right now. As three series of matches to be played in this week, Cobras needs to win all those matches to maintain the momentum which they got in recent matches. Cobras revealed their 13-man squad for this away game and they brought back in the experienced Vernon Philander. The experienced Proteas players Hashim Amla and the captain JP Duminy consistently playing well for Cobras. Amla gives a good start for the time and Duminy takes a charge in the second half of the batting innings. Amla will open the innings along with Temba Bavuma who struggles to score runs quickly in the season. Wicket keeper Kyle Verreyne was promoted to no. 3 in the last game but he may move back to lower middle-order again. George Linde smashed 52 off 30 balls when he was promoted to no. 3 in the game against Warriors last week. He has a chance to bat up in the order once again for Cobras. George Linde has to prove his strength with the ball in this game.

Captain JP Duminy in an outstanding form and he smashed his 3rd half-century of the season against Dolphins few days back. Current form of JP Duminy is the big plus for Cobras and also for the fantasy players. Qaasim Adams will keep his place in the middle-order and he may come with his first good performance in the season, tonight. The young Ferisco Adams impresses with his bowling skills in the middle-overs and he also bats at crucial no. 6. Aviwe Mgijima will play a handy knock once he gets a batting opportunity in this game. Vernon Philander is named in the squad and he is expected to be the XI as well. If he is back, then Mgijima might make a way for him. Rory Kleinveldt uses all his experiences for Cobras and played a big part in their hat-trick wins last week. Keep him in your teams and he won’t disappoint you. Dane Paterson had a great comeback against Warriors and claimed 3 for 25 in 4 overs. He has a chance to perform well once again but as he is unpredictable and maintains inconsistency, can’t assure anything. Mthiwekhaya Nabe is the other bowler in the side and he used to play good supportive role with his quota of 4 overs.
