South Africa’s own domestic T20 tournament, Ram Slam T20 Challenge – Season 2017 nears the end as the tournament hosts second semi-final clash in Durban on Thursday. Hollywood Bets Dolphins hosts this game and they will face Cape Cobras. Winner of the game will advances to the grand final which takes place on Saturday. 2nd Semi-final clash between Dolphins vs Cape Cobras scheduled to start at 6 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Thursday, 14th December 2017.

Dolphins were able to play only five completed matches out of 10 in group stages and four out of five of their home matches were washed out. So, Dolphins entered into the semi-final round with 22 points. As they had better NRR, Dolphins overtook Cape Cobras and finished at second in the points table. Durban hosted only one completed match this season due to continue rainfall in the city. As weather forecast suggest rain on the match day, chances are heavy for this game to be abandon too. That case Dolphins will qualify for the Final as they have better NRR than Cobras. Dolphins has announced the unchanged 13-man squad for this semi-final fixture. The veteran Morne van Wyk in prime form at the moment who smashed with scores of 70 and 67 runs respectively over the weekend. His current form is the key for Dolphins and he has hat-trick half-centuries in last three matches. Sarel Erwee started the season with a stunning century against Lions. But then he dismissed for single-digit scores in next 4 innings he batted. Dolphins added extra bowler to their XI for the last game and rested Sarel Erwee. Vaughn van Jaarsveld was promoted to opening position and he scored useful run-a-ball 28 runs. Jaarsveld has plenty of experiences in the format that may help him to open the innings again on Thursday. After faced some struggles in mid-tournament, wicket keeper Dane Vilas found back his hard-hitting form at right time and slapped 51 off just 22 against Knights on last Friday. He also scored 29 off 15 balls in the last game.

Captain Khaya Zondo knew his responsibilities in the team and he leads the team in right direction. He plays key role for Dolphins in every game and he will do the same in semi final too. The power-hitting big man Robbie Frylinck is the key all-rounder in the team. He struggled at some times with both bat and ball but we could not resist him in the fantasy teams. He is the match winner and could change the game at any moment. Proteas player Andile Phehlukwayo does a good job for Dolphins this year. He didn’t fire with the bat, but did a good job with bowl. He has taken 5 wickets in 5 innings. Sibonelo Makhanya has played two crucial knocks in lower middle-order this season. He yet to start his wicket count but bowled decent spells with his part-time overs. South Africa’s regular member of test side, Keshav Maharaj has claimed 6 wickets in 6 innings he bowled. He used to bowl well controlled spells and he is expected to bowl well at Kingsmead on Thursday. The top leg-spinner in the world Imran Tahir had a struggled moments in the tournament. Finally, he got back his form in the last two games and picked 2 wickets each with an economical spells. Mthokozisi Shezi bowled decently well in recent matches and picked 3 for 24 against Warriors last week. He can surprises all with 2 or more wickets in this game. If Sarel Erwee makes his return to the team, then Prenelan Subrayen will go back to bench.

Cape Cobras started their season with a hat-trick of losses, then suddenly they have got some momentum and won 5 matches in a row and reached the second spot in the table. But their loss to Warriors in the last game in group stage pushed them to 3rd place. Cobras qualified with 22 points and 5 wins but their victory margins were very close and that took their chances away from hosting semi-final match. Cobras named 14-man squad for this important knock-out game. Richard Levi who knows as a hard-hitting batsman struggled a lot in the first-half of the tournament and dropped for few matches. Finally, he was back and back with some good hitting in the last two matches. He yet to score half-century or more but scored useful 27 and 31 runs respectively. If Levi in full-flow on Thursday, he will take his team home safely. Class batsman Hashim Amla scored only two half-centuries in 10 innings, but he has played a handy knocks in every match of group stage. He is the ideal batsman and deserves a place in your team. Temba Bavuma is unpredictable who plays with a mixed form. It’s very hard to predict how he performs in this game as he has lots of up and downs in the tournament. Captain Duminy is the big key factor of Cobras at the moment. He has won man of the match awards in multiple occasions this year. He has scored a total of 356 runs in 10 innings with 3 match winning half-centuries. The batting all-rounder definitely deserves a place in all fantasy teams.

The new sensation of Cobras, all-rounder Ferisco Adams was rested for the last game. He will be back in the XI for this big clash. He bowled key spells in middle-overs and also score some good runs in middle-order. The experienced Vernon Philander was brought back to the XI on Sunday after missed several matches due to injury. He had an average game against Warriors, hopefully, he will shine with both bat and bowl this time around. Carlos Koyana took a wicket-keeper duties from Kyle Verreynne and played a decent knocks off 20 runs at middle-order in the last game. He will keep wickets in this game too. The veteran Rory Kleinveldt had so many good memories in the season with his outstanding bowling performances. He should continue to bowl control spell against the strong batting unit of Dolphins. Sometimes the left-arm spinner George Linde bowls slightly expensive spell but he knew the tricks to take wickets. He may promote up in the batting order like happened in group stage and if that happens he could possibly smash some big hits. Dane Paterson is the wicket-taking machine of Cobras in last few games. He picked a tally of 12 wickets in last 5 innings in the tournament and he will be the major threat for Dolphins on Thursday. A decent spells of Mthiwekhaya Nabe will hold the place in the XI for him. The veteran and former captain Justin Ontong has been added to the squad for the first time in this season. He has 50/50 chances to be in the playing XI.
