West Indies side shown some spirit in both tests but the home team dominated completely. Both Cricket Boards has announced their respective squads for the ODI series. The ODI series between New Zealand vs West Indies starts with the first match on December 20.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will play only first ODI, then he will be rested for next two ODIs and also for the first T20I. As busiest summer ahead for the Kiwis, captain Williamson will take some rest and also Tim Southee. New Zealand Cricket Board has been named 13-man squad for the first ODI, Neil Broom and Mitchell Santner are the replacements for Williamson and Southee in 2nd and 3rd ODIs.

The big hitting all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme named in the original squad but he has been withdrawn following the death of his father. He has left to his place of birth Zimbabwe and there is no info over of his return. De Grandhomme has been replaced by pacer Doug Bracewell in the ODI squad. Bracewell’s last ODI was against India in October 2016.

Tom Latham will take the responsibility of captaincy from Williamson for last two matches. The in-form batsman has a company of Ross Taylor, Colin Munro, Henry Nicholls and George Worker to strengthen top order batting. All-rounder Todd Astle who had been withdrawn from India tour due to injuries found a place in the squad this time. Trent Boult will lead the bowling attack which contains Tim Southee (1st match), Matt Henry, Doug Bracewell, Adam Milne and Lockie Ferguson. Left-arm spinner Santner will join the bowling unit for 2nd and 3rd match.

West Indies will play under the captaincy of Jason Holder once again. Holder takes a charge after suspended for the last test due to team’s slow over-rate.
