Imran Tahir who generally not playing longer format not added in the squad well. He might be rested for this game. Cody Chetty, Senuran Muthusamy, Calvin Cavage and Smanga Nhlebela are all named in the squad. As Cody Chetty in the squad, we can expect some changes in the top order batting. The out-of form Sarel Erwee might make a way for Cody Chetty who had good first class season recently. If Erwee sit out, Vaughn van Jaarsveld will open the innings with Morne van Wyk. The most experienced player in the squad Morne Van Wyk will be the key player in the format for Dolphins. He has over 8500 List-A runs to his name with 23 centuries and 41 fifties. JP Duminy who announced his retirement from Test cricket few months ago, available for Cape Cobras for this whole tournament. So, Duminy continue to lead Cobras side in List-A tournament too. Due to the national duties Cobras misses the players like Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma and Vernon Philander. Pieter Malan, Tshepo Moreki and Jason Smith comes to the 14-man squad for this away game. On the absence of Amla, Richard Levi is expected to open the innings along with Pieter Malan. The 28-years old Pieter Malan has scored over 2700 runs in List A and his highest score was 169*. He smashed 4147 runs at strike-rate of 106 in 114 List A innings. If he gets going then he could be the player who you need in your team. Jason Smith was overlooked during T20 tournament, but the 23-years old all-rounder has a good chance to be in the XI on Thursday. He is very handy customer who scored 441 runs with a bat and 22 wickets with a ball in 21 List-A matches in his career. Middle-order batsman Qaasim Adams had a tough season in recent T20 challenge but he could come back strong in this 50-overs format. Carlos Koyana is the specialist wicket keeper in the squad for this game in Durban. He possibly bat at no. 7 for Cobras and handy with gloves work too. He has 42 wickets and 362 runs for his credit in List A career. The left-arm spinner George Linde had a very decent tournament in T20s, he will play a key role in One-Day format too. His List A career best score was 93* and picked 47 wickets in just 29 matches. That stats proves how important he is for Cobras. Aviwe Mgijima had a poor season in T20 Challenge and that may make him to fight for a place in the XI. The veteran Rory Kleinveldt will be the key bowler in this format for Cobras. He has done a great job for the team in the recently concluded T20 tournament and that form is expected to continue in this game too. The evolution of Dane Paterson raised so many eyebrows during the T20 Challenge, now he has to continue his great work in 50-overs format too.
