As the league stage of Bangladesh Premier League – season 5 nearing the end, all seven teams are set to play their last round of matches in next two days. In the first match of Twentieth double-header, table topper Comilla Victorians faces Khulna Titans who are at no. 3 in the table currently. Match 39 between Comilla Victorians vs Khulna Titans is scheduled to begin at 1 PM Local | 12:30 PM IST on Tuesday, 5th December 2017.

Comilla Victorians started the season with a heavy defeat against Sixers but their strong come back of 8 wins in next 9 outings put them in safe place and they were the first team who qualified for play-offs. The Champions of 2015 season had a very tough season in 2016 but the strong mix of local and overseas players helped them to win series of matches this year. Victorians defeated Titans by 9 wickets in their first meet up last week and looking forward to maintain the form against the same opposition on Tuesday afternoon. Bowling attack of Victorians works really well in recent matches and they bowled out opposition twice in last 3 matches. Captain Tamim Iqbal provides positive start for the team every time and he has a good company of Liton Das and Imrul Kayes at top of the order. Both Liton and Imrul had a tough time in the low-scoring venture against Riders on Saturday. Hopes for good come back knocks from them on Tuesday. English wicket keeper batsman Jos Buttler is not at his best in recent matches. He managed to score only 36 runs in last 5 matches and as he is set to play in Big Bash League, he may leave to Australia any time soon. Therefore some little possibilities for Fakhar Zaman to replace him. Veteran batsman Marlon Samuels contributed with runs whenever he got an opportunity to bat in the season. He scored a total of 208 runs in just 6 innings for Victorians and he might add some more runs to his tally in this game.

Shoaib Malik is the other in-form player in Victorians side and as usual he used to contributes with either bat or bowl in every match. Remember he earned man of the match award for his bowling performances against Titans last week. Dwayne Bravo plays an in and out role this season, he featured in 7 matches and claimed 10 wickets so far. In the last match, he was rested for the newcomer from Afghanistan Mujeeb Zadran who claimed 20 wickets in the recently concluded Youth Asia Cup. Mujeeb Zadran had a decent debut with 0/24 in 4 overs. He was selected in Afghan ODI squad, so he won’t take any further part in the ongoing BPL season. That means Dwayne Bravo will be back in the lineup. The off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has taken 4 wicket haul against Riders in the last game and he used to bowl so well in power-play overs for Victorians. Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali struggled a bit against Dynamites then came back strong with 1/15 in 4 overs spell against Riders in the last game. The no. 1 ODI bowler may take 2 or more wickets in this game. Mohammad Saifuddin deserves a place in each fantasy teams as he bowls very decent spells match by match. Al-Amin Hossain reported for suspect bowling action last week but still he is allowed to bowl for next few days, so chances are high for him to play another game for Victorians. If they decides to drop him, then Arafat Sunny would be a possible replacement.

Mahmuddulah led-side faced back-to-back defeats in last two games which pushed them down from top to 3rd place in the points table. Titans faced two heavy defeats, first they lost by 9 wickets to Victorians then lost to Rangpur Riders by 19 runs on Sunday night. This will be the Titans last game before the play-offs and they requires a victory to take some momentum with them to play-off round. As Rilee Rossouw failed to perform in few matches, Titans brought back Michael Klinger in the last game on Sunday. Klinger responded well at the top order with 44 runs but he needs to concentrate on his strike-rate. Titans needs a must win to re-group themselves which means some sort of chances for both Klinger and Rossouw to play this game. After so many failures Nazmul Hossain has played two handy knocks in last 3 appearances. He came with 49 off 31 balls against Kings last week and then scored 20 off 18 in the last game. He is expected to keep the position at top of the order as Titans lack with talented local players. The young all-rounder Afif Hossain bats at no. 3 for Titans. He played a very good knock of 54* off 38 balls against Kings but in next two matches he managed to score only 8 runs each. He bowled expensive spells in last two matches as well. Chances are high for Titans to go with him once again and also some hopes for him to shine with both bat and bowl. Captain of the side Mahmudullah had a very disappointing times with a bat in last 3 games. He scored 1, 14 and 6 runs only in his last three innings. But he scored back-to-back half-centuries just before those three innings. Hopefully, he will regain good batting form and expecting some match winning performances from him with both bat and bowl on Tuesday.

Nicholas Pooran took a gloves from Chadwick Walton and played an wonderful knock of 57 off 26 balls against Kings. Then he dismissed for 0 and 1 respectively in last two games. The young power-hitter deserves one more opportunity before move back to Walton, so he is expected to get a game against Victorians. Keeps an eye on Ariful Haque who already played a match winning knocks of 40, 34 and 43* respectively in the tournament, may come with another match winning performances in this game. T20 captain of West Indies, Carlos Brathwaite contributed a lot with his all-around performances this year. He didn’t offer much in last two games, but he could be back with high fantasy points at any moment. Young Jofra Archer contributed with both bat and bowl in the last game against Riders. He picked 2 for 28 first then scored 19 off 11 balls later on the same night. He is expected to continue his good work in this game too. No clue why Titans are not using Junaid Khan in last few matches. First they replaced him with Kyle Abbott then brought in Mohammad Irfan in the last game. Khulna Titans desperately needs the service of Junaid Khan at this stage of the tournament. Hopefully, Junaid Khan will get game against Victorians. The local pacers Shafiul Islam and Abu Jayed needs to maintain consistency. At least either one of them used to bowl expensive spells. Shafiul claimed 5 wickets haul against Kings but Abu Jayed went very expensive in that game. When Abu bowled a decent spell of 1 for 14 against Riders, Shafiul conceded 48 runs in his 4 overs. The team needs their major pacers to bowl with consistency in this crucial game on Tuesday.
