The clinical all around performances presented a 93-runs victory for the home team India and now they lead 1-0 in three-match T20 International series. After bowled out for just 87 runs, Sri Lankans in hurry to re-group quickly as they have to face India again in the second match on Friday night. If India wins, they will hold an undefeated streak at home across the format in last two years. Second T20I between India vs Sri Lanka scheduled to start at 7 PM Local | 1:30 PM GMT on Friday, 22nd December 2017.

INDIA :

After that stunning performances on Wednesday night Team India unlikely to do changes in their winning combination. KL Rahul structured the innings with much needed 60+ runs while MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey finished it in style with big blows. Bowlers joined the party later in the night, especially spinners Chahal and Kuldeep stunned the opponents with their brilliant bowling. Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore hosts the second game and the ground known for runs. Captain Rohit Sharma started off well in the last game, but he misjudged Mathews delivery in the last over of power-play and walked back for 17 runs. He will be bounce back and can expect big runs from the Hitman. KL Rahul made a point on his limited overs comeback match with an useful 61 off 48 balls. He was started to struggle after crossed fifty runs, hopefully he will correct his mistakes and score more runs in this game.

The man in-form, the new comer to the squad Shreyas Iyer started the innings with an aggressive shots. But at some point he started to take only singles and when he look to gear up the innings, dismissed for 24 runs. Shreyas will be the key batsman in high-scoring grounds like Indore, so expects at least half-century from the young batsman from Mumbai. Former captain and the most experienced player in the team, MS Dhoni was promoted in the order and arrived the middle at no. 4. As usual he took some time in the middle and then he accelerated to finish off with 39 off 22 balls with 4 fours and a six. Manish Pandey gave a good company to the senior player Dhoni and remained unbeaten 32 off just 18 balls. Both Dhoni and Pandey has a good chance to play another good knocks in this game. As India lost only 3 wickets in 20 overs, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya and others didn’t get an opportunity to bat that day. Hardik Pandya didn’t bat that night, but he shined with the bowl in late innings. He was bit expensive in his first 3 over but came back so well and picked 3 wickets in his 4th over to finish-off 3 for 29.

The no. 1 T20I bowler in the world, Jasprit Bumrah had bowled only 2 overs spell and that too in the second half of Sri Lanka innings. As spinners done so many damages, Bumrah hadn’t to do much in that game. But, he will play a big role in this second game on Friday. Jaydev Unadkat earned a place in the XI ahead of Mohammad Siraj and Basil Thampi. Unadkat has justified his selection with 1 for 7 in his 2 overs spell. He deserves a game on Friday and he deserves a place in your fantasy teams as well. Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav shared 6 wickets among them. Chahal was the match turner for Team India and he claimed a four wickets haul for 23 runs in his 4 overs. On other side, the left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep has taken 2 for 18 runs in 4 overs spell. These two spinners are key for the team in the clash on Friday too. No changes are expected from Indian side, if they do then either Washington Sundar or Deepak Hooda get a go as third spin option.

SRI LANKA :

Sri Lankan team had few memorable moments on this tour when they drew the test in Delhi and won the game in amazing style in Dharamsala in the first ODI. Since then the visitors started to struggle as they do all through 2017. Former captain Angelo Mathews was the only bowler who bowled under 7 runs per over in the first game. The front-line pace option Nuwan Pradeep bowled really well in first 3 overs of his spell but then he gave away 21 runs in his last over of the night. Skipper Thisara Perera also conceded 37 runs in his spell. When chasing challenging target, Sri Lanka lost last 9 wickets for just 48 runs. Only four of their batsmen scored in double-digits on Wednesday night. The wicket-keeping opener Niroshan Dickwella was in hurry at early stage of the innings soon he paid the price for it. He was dismissed for 13 runs in that game, if he correct his errors, he will play a good knock in Indore. The experienced Upul Tharanga smashed two sixes in his 23 runs knock. He had a good form during BPL season, he should bring back that form and must play stable innings in this game.

There were so many expectations on the hard-hitter Kusal Perera. But he didn’t hit even a single boundary in his 19 runs off 28 balls knock. It was a big disappoint from him and that may cost him a place in the XI. In case Kusal throws out, either Danushka Gunathilaka or Sadeera Samarawickrama will take his place in the XI. Gunathilaka would be a dangerous player in this format. All rounder Angelo Mathews had a good time with a ball but he didn’t have a good day with a bat. He conceded 19 runs in his 3 overs spell and picked a wicket of Rohit Sharma. He was in fine form during the ODIs where he scored first ODI century after very long time. But on Wednesday night, he dismissed early for just 1 run off 7 balls. Mathews still a key player of Sri Lanka and you could expect some more impressive performances from him on Friday.

Batting all-rounder Asela Gunaratne’s weird tour continued with a score of 4 runs in the last game. He single-handedly won the T20I series against Australia in early 2017, but now he struggles a lot since his return from injury. Sri Lanka made a blinded mistake by not using Dasun Shanaka with a ball. He is expected to ball at least in the next game on Friday. Skipper Thisara’s bad run with a bat continues and he dismissed for only 3 runs in the last game. He used to pick wickets with a ball but at the same time he concedes too many runs too. The off-spinner Akila Dananjaya bowled a decent spell of none for 30 in 4 overs. If the pitch in Indore supports spinners, then he could expect two or more wickets from this mystery spinner. Pacer Dushmantha Chameera might lose his place to the spinner Sachith Pathirana, after conceded 38 runs in just 3 overs spell. The left-armer Vishwa Fernando bowled only 2 overs spell and he conceded 16 runs only. That may hold him in the XI on Friday. As Sri Lanka has no other pace options, the expensive cum experienced bowler Nuwan Pradeep will continue in the XI.
