In the first triple-header of the season in Ram Slam T20, Dolphins set to hosts Knights at Kingsmead in Durban. The home team Dolphins registered a big win in their first game while Knights has each one win and loss at the moment. Match 7 between Dolphins vs Knights scheduled to start at 6 PM Local | 9:30 PM IST on Friday, 17th November 2017.

Dolphins started the season with a bang when they scored 231 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs against Cape Cobras on last Sunday. The opener Sarel Erwee’s tremendous century and captain Khaya Zondo’s amazing 67 off 34 balls helped the side to post monstrous total on the board. Bowlers also did a decent job when the game reduced to 10 overs in the second-half. Dolphins are all set to play their first home game of the season on Friday night. They have named almost a same squad for this game. Cody Chetty omitted from the squad that’s the only change in the squad. Sarel Erwee will open the innings along with the most experienced player in the team Morne van Wyk. Erwee may surprises all with another big innings in this game. Morne van Wyk started the last game with a bang, he scored 19 runs off just 7 balls before lost his wicket to Philander. He has one century and 22 half-century in his T20 career and proves the value of him in the top-order. Wicket-keeper Dane Vilas promoted to no. 3 in the last game and he justified it with useful 32 runs. He is the hard-hitter, if he gets an opportunity to bat at no. 3 once again, we could expect much better innings from him on Friday.

Captain Khaya Zondo led from the front always for Dolphins and he just did the same in the last game too. The well talented batsman is capable of bowling part-time overs and picks crucial wickets. The hard-hitting all-rounder in the side Robbie Frylinck is awaiting for his chances. He did a good job with 2 overs spell other day. He is expected to come with stunning performance with both bat and bowl against Knights. The Proteas player Andile Phehlukwayo had a bad day with a bowl against Cobras. He is one of the quality all-rounder that Dolphins has ever produced and he could come with big performances at any time. The left-arm spinner and the regular member of South Africa test side, Keshav Maharaj is a valuable player who lead the bowling unit and also scores useful runs at lower middle-order. Sibonelo Makhanya is the other notable all-rounder in the squad of Dolphins. He didn’t do anything in the first game but he is useful with both bat and bowl. Prenelan Subrayen, Eathan Bosch and Smangaliso Nhlebela are other bowlers who part of the team against Cobras. Among three of them Subrayen will keep his place in the XI based on the experience. Either Bosch or Nhelebela will make a way for Mthokozisi Shezi in this game.

Table bottom of last year Knights started the new season with 8 wickets victory against Warriors last week. But they faced the first defeat in very next outing against Titans last night. Knights has been named with same 13-man squad for last two matches. Even after losing the game to Titans, still Knights named the unchanged squad for third straight match. Bowlers Shadley van Schalkwyk, Marchant de Lange and Eddie Leie all did a great job in the first game while Theunis de Bruyn and David Miller brought their best efforts to seal the victory. But in the second game against Titans, almost every bowler bowled expensive spells and none of the batsman stood up with a big innings in 200 runs chase. Grant Mokoena started well with a bat against Titans but unfortunately dismissed for 21 off 13 balls. That quick innings assures his place in the XI for Friday. Patrick Kruger scored only 11 runs in 2 innings, those poor performances might opens the door for Keegan Petersen who are awaiting for his turn. Skipper Theunis de Bruyn and star player David Miller are bats at no. 3 and 4 for Knights. Theunis scored a match winning 78 off 48 balls in the first game and also scored 22 runs against Titans last night. He has a bright chances to play big innings again in this game. David Miller started the season with 62 off 47 balls and managed to score only 8 runs against Titans. He is the T20 specialist and he will come with much better batting performances against Dolphins.

Wicket-keeper Andries Gous had a good opportunity other day and he utilized by scoring 37 off 29 balls. He is young and talented cricket, no surprises if he comes with big knock on Friday. The veteran all-rounder Ryan McLaren had two back-to-back poor games with a ball. Based on the experiences he will get a game again, hopefully, he will come with a better performances this time around. Spinner Aubrey Swanepoel is very useful player in Knights lower middle-order. The experienced leg-spinner Eddie Leie has bowled so well in the first game and claimed 2 for 16 in 4 overs. But he went expensive in a second. He is one of the major bowler in the unit and there is a chance for him to play a key role in this game. Shadley van Schalkwyk and Marchant de Lange are front-line pacers of Knights. Schalkwyk did a fantastic job in his spell of 3 for 25 against Warriors. De Lange also bowled a splendid spell in that game. But both bowlers went very expensive against the strong Titans on Wednesday night. If this combo do well on Friday that will help the team in a big way. Duanne Olivier warmed the bench for first two matches, he might do the same against Dolphins too.
