After two days break, Bangladesh Premier League – season 5 begins Chittagong leg and start up with one more double-header on this Fantastic Friday. In the first match of the day, Khulna Titans goes for a face-off with Rangpur Riders. Khulna Titans who are at 3rd in the points table right now while Riders are sits at no. 5 with 6 points. Match 25 between Khulna Titans vs Rangpur Riders is scheduled to begin at 2 PM Local | 1:30 PM IST on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Mahmudullah Riyad led-side has won 4 out of 7 matches that they played so far in the ongoing season. One of their match was abandoned due to rain last week. With the 1 point which they earned from that abandoned match, Titans are sits at 3rd position with 9 points. The big plus would be the arrival of Pakistan spearhead Junaid Kahn and he started the season with the amazing 4 wickets haul against Rajshahi Kings. Heroics of Ariful Haque took Titans home safely in that tight game against Rajshahi Kings on Tuesday. As we expected Titans dropped Klinger, Dhiman Ghosh and Kyle Abbott in the last game and replaced with Chadwick Walton, Afif Hossain and Junaid Khan. The wicket-keeper opener Chadwick Walton was back in the side after missed out two matches but once again he fell early for just 4 runs. As Titans don’t want to bring in Dhiman Ghosh to the XI at this stage, Walton is expected to retains his place in the XI on Friday. Rilee Rossouw who sparkled with 49 off 26 against Vikings at top of the order, scored 20 off 17 balls at the same position on Tuesday. He is well talented top-order batsman and hopes for some jaw dropping knock from him in this game. Mahmudullah sent in the power-hitting all-rounder Seekkuge Prasanna at no. 3 in the last game but Prasanna not utilized the opportunity and dismissed for only 6 runs. He did not shine with bowl either which means he might drop for this game and may open the door for Benny Howell who didn’t play a game yet in the season. France born all-rounder Benny Howell is very useful player in the T20 format. He has over 1100+ runs and 90 wickets for his credits in 89 T20 appearances. No clue why Titans did not use him yet, hopefully he will earn his place for this game.

Since the day Mahmudullah joined Titans last year, he used to take the team on his shoulders. He scored a match-winning 48 not out against Vikings and then he came with a fighting 56 off 44 balls against Kings on Tuesday. He is the money-worthy player of the team and he won’t disappoint you all the time. Afif Hossain played his first game of the season on Tuesday and he did some good job in that game. He picked 3 for 23 in 3 overs with the bowl and may get a second chance in this game as well. The in-form Carlos Brathwaite had an average outing against Kings. He claimed a wicket for 33 runs in 4 overs and dismissed for 12 runs at crucial stage of the game. He was excellent in the season, guess he will be back with a bang all-around performances on Friday afternoon. Titans still hanging with Nazmul Hossain Shanto who failed a game after game. It may be a time to move on with him and Yasir Ali or Saif Hassan will replace him in the XI for this game. Middle-order batsman Ariful Haque proved his worth in the team one more time against Kings. He scored very useful 34 off 24 against Vikings and in very next innings he brought back the team from nowhere to victory with his scintillating 43 not out off just 19 balls. There would be no surprise if he play similar role in this game as well. Abu Jayed continued to bowl well in the season and claimed 2 more wickets against Kings. Shafiul Islam struggled in last few matches, hopefully, he will back to form and takes some wickets in this game. Junaid Khan started his season with 4 for 27 runs in 4 overs. He was on fire in the power-play overs other day. Keep him in your team and hopefully he won’t disappoints you.

The team which was at bottom of the table until Monday afternoon is now at 5th place with a back-to-back wins. Star-studded Rangpur Riders are back into the race after winning two matches in a row with an amazing batting of Universe Boss Chris Gayle. Riders were down with a hat-trick of defeats then two consecutive wins makes them a strong contenders in the tournament. Rangpur Riders has a dream opening pair of Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum. Gayle smashed half-centuries in both innings, he scored 50 (39) and 51 (28) respectively. While Brendon McCullum also started well with 33 off 21 against Sixers but he disappointed the fans with only 6 runs against Dynamites on Tuesday. We can expect a fire-work from these two but will they do it against the strong bowling attack of Khulna Titans, that’s the big question. Mohammad Mithun used to score 20+ runs in almost every innings and he did the same in last two matches as well. The team has given an enough chances to Shahriar Nafees, may be it’s time to drop him. If he drops, Shamsur Rahman may replaces him in the XI. Shamsur’s highest T20 score was 98* and he has all ability to replace Nafees.

Ravi Bopara is the man who performs from day 1 for Riders. Finally he had a poor day against Dynamites other night but expecting some good show from him on Friday and he is the consistent player of the season in Riders squad. All-rounder Thisara Perera hold his nerves in the last over and defended the target successfully against Dynamites on Tuesday. He was the expensive bowler in Riders unit that day, but his two wickets in last two balls confirmed the victory for the team. He is not exploding with the bat in last few matches, hopefully, he will come up in the order and smash the ball in this game. Ziaur Rahman is well talented local player but it seems Riders not utilizing him correctly. If he gets a game on Friday, he has a chance to come up in the order and also to bowl some overs for his team. As we all know, captain Mashrafe Mortaza is one of the key player in the team. He claimed a tally of 7 wickets in 6 matches and he always uses to bowl controlled economical spells. Don’t underestimate his batting abilities, he maintains a strike rate of 130 in T20 cricket. The legendary Lasith Malinga was back in the side for Riders against Dynamites and he impressed straightaway with 1 for 20 in 4 overs. Malinga was struggling in limited overs cricket for quite some months but his performances vs Dynamites shows some confidence and expecting similar performances from him on Friday. Sohag Gazi was the most economical bowler in the last game on Tuesday. He claimed 2 for 18 in his 4 overs, he started to do good job in last two games and may be come with another good spell in this game. Rubel Hossain also had a good game with his 2 for 29 in 4 overs. He will keep his place safe for this game.
