Sri Lanka tour of India – 2017 – Fixtures

As India toured Sri Lanka in July-August this year, it’s a time for Sri Lanka to tour India for packed tour. Sri Lanka arrives in India in mid of November to play Tests, ODIs and T20I series against the hosts. The 37-days Sri Lanka tour of India likely to begins in Kolkata with the 1st test of three match series.

The first test will be played on November 16-20 in Kolkata and the national capital Delhi will host third and last test on December 2-6. Nagpur is the hosts for second test which begins on November 24.

After the longest format series, Sri Lanka will faces India in the ODI and T20Is series respectively. Both limited overs series contains 3 matches each. The first ODI is likely to be played in Dharamsala on 10th of December. Punjab Cricket Association Ground in Mohali will host the second ODI on 13th December while Visakhapatnam hosts third and last ODI match on December 17.

Two days after the ODI series, the entertaining T20Is begins with the first game in Cuttack. Indore and Mumbai will be hosts for the second and third match respectively.

The second Test will be Nagpur’s first Test since the ICC gave the Jamtha surface a ‘poor’ rating during the series against South Africa in 2015. The pitch in Nagpur has since been relaid, and it hosted the fifth ODI between India and Australia two days ago.

Mumbai will host two matches in few months time as hosts New Zealand ODI in October and T20I against Sri Lanka on December. Indore also hosts similar kind as they hosted India vs Australia, 3rd ODI and set to held second T20I against Sri Lanka in December.

Thiruvananthapuram, which had been initially allotted a T20I against Sri Lanka, will now host a T20I against New Zealand on November 7 after swapping fixtures with Cuttack. “We were initially supposed to host Sri Lanka in December and Odisha [Cuttack] were supposed to host the New Zealand game in November, but, there is a festival in Odisha in November, so we are now hosting the New Zealand game instead.” Kerala Cricket Association secretary Jayesh George told.

After Team India defeated Sri Lanka 9-0 across all formats during their tour of Islands, it’s interesting to see what the home side and visitors going to offer on this Sri Lanka’s return tour of India.
