The home team South Africa started their home season with two big wins in a two match test series against Bangladesh. As the test series over, both teams meets in three-match ODI series which begins in Kimberley, coming Sunday. Both Cricket South Africa and Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced their ODI squads respectively.



Cricket South Africa named 14-men squad for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh. Faf du Plessis will lead the team in this series. His team fulfilled with strongly experienced batters and bowlers. The former captain AB de Villiers is back into South African squad for the first time since June. The arrival of ABD will boosts the squad much more and there could be no surprises if go for international records during this series.

Captain Faf du Plessis, Hashim Amla and Temba Bavuma are three batsman who retained their places from the recent test squad. AB de Villiers and the batting all rounder JP Duminy are in the squad along with Farhaan Behardien. David Miller, the limited overs specialist batsman also included in the squad. JP Duminy named in the ODI squad for the first time since his retirement from test cricket which he announced last month.

As usual, the regular wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock will manage gloves work and he will back into the openers position as limited overs series begins. The all rounder Dwaine Pretorius found his name in the squad along with bowling all rounders Wayne Parnell and Andile Phehlukwayo. The bowling all rounder Chris Morris not included in the squad as he was sidelined with an injury.

The experienced leg spinner Imran Tahir is the only specialist spinner named in the 14-men squad. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj who was part of the squad in the Champions Trophy, failed to retain his place in the team.

The pace attack will be lead by the bowling sensation of South Africa for past 2 years, Kagiso Rabada. He has a company of Dane Paterson who called into the ODI squad for the very first time.

Bangladesh team has done so well in their home soil across the format in last 2-3 years. But they are facing a big test in the on-going away tour against South Africa. Mushfiqur Rahim led test side lost both of tests to South Africa in a difference of huge margins. Now, the captaincy handed over to Mashrafe Mortaza who is the regular limited overs cricket captain of Bangladesh. Uncapped Mohammad Saifuddin has been included in 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series in South Africa.

The experienced opener Tamim Iqbal was dropped for the second test due to thigh injury, last week. The selectors included Tamim in the squad with the hope of him recovering in time for the ODI series. The left-handed batsman Mominul Haque was not named in the original squad, but later on the selectors included him to the squad after his an impressive performances in Potchefstroom test. The regular batsmen in the side, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes and Sabbir Rahman retained their places as well.

Mushfiqur Rahim will handle the wicket-keeper duties while Litton Das added in the squad as a back-up wicket-keeper. Das done a gloves work in the test series, but Rahim will take care of it in the ODIs.

The star all rounder of Bangladesh, Shakib al Hasan left out from the test squad as he wished for some rest from test cricket. As the ODI series to begin, the all rounder is back in the squad and he has a company of all rounders Mahmudullah and Nasir Hossain.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will bowl the off-spin and he has a company of all rounder Shakib al Hasan in the spin department. Nasir Hossain and Mahmudullah also in the group who offers part-time spin bowling.

Captain Mashrafe Mortaza will lead the team as well as the bowling attack with his experiences. The fast bowler has a company of four other pacers in the squad. They are Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain and the uncapped Mohammad Saifuddin. Among all five of them, all eyes are on the bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman.
