Cricket South Africa re-called Temba Bavuma to the ODI squad and also made a maiden call-up to Dane Paterson in the ODI squad. The selectors has announced 14-men squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh at home. Temba Bavuma and Dane Paterson earned their call-ups as South Africa look to broaden their pool strength ahead of next World Cup in 2019.
Temba Bavuma who scored a century on his ODI debut against Ireland last year, has not been part of South Africa’s limited overs squad after that. Bavuma opened the batting and scored satisfying 113 runs in that debut innings against Ireland, but he was overlooked in the next series against Australia when Hashim Amla back in the side after short rest.
As Morne Morkel has been ruled out for second test against Bangladesh, Dane Paterson replaced him in the test squad. Then, he received maiden call-up to the ODI squad as well. He has four international appearances when he featured for South Africa in T20Is.
Chris Morris and Morne Morkel does not make in to the squad due to their respective injuries, selectors also dropped Keshav Maharaj who was part of the squad in the Champions Trophy in June.
Recently retired from Test cricket, the batting all rounder JP Duminy keep his spot safe in the ODI squad, this series may help him to find his form back.
Captain Faf du Plessis will lead the side which featuring lot of experienced and talented players. The star batsmen Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and David Miller are in the squad along with Temba Bavuma.
The regular wicket keeper, Quinton de Kock will keeps the wicket once again. The batting all rounder Farhaan Behardien found a place in the squad another batting all rounder JP Duminy.
The bowling all rounders Dwaine Pretorius and Wayne Parnell retains their places in the squad while Andile Phehlukwayo named in the squad as well. The experienced leg-spinner Imran Tahir is the lone specialist spinner who named in the squad. The young and leader of pace attack Kagiso Rabada will lead the bowling attack once again in the series.

The three-match ODI series against Bangladesh begins in Kimberly on October 15. Next two matches will be held in Paarl and East London on 18th and 22nd October, respectively.
