After a thrilling ODI series, team India hosts New Zealand in the three-match T20I series which begins at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in national capital, Delhi on Wednesday. New Zealand fought so hard in the ODIs and now they are all set to play in the format where they holds no. 1 spot, T20 cricket. Indian team never won New Zealand in T20s, will they change that history? The first T20I between India vs New Zealand scheduled to start at 7 PM IST | 1:30 PM GMT on Wednesday, 1st November 2017.



Heroics of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with a bat and Japrit Bumrah with a ball helped Team India to clinch a thriller in the final ODI and secured a series 2-1. Now, Virat Kohli and his men will head to play more pressurizes T20 series as they faces world no. 1 team in the format. All focus on the veteran fast bowler Ashish Nehra who retires from all forms of cricket with this T20I clash in Delhi. India used to play with a similar lineup in both ODIs and T20s against Australia, they will be forced to make one change if Ashish Nehra gets his farewell game. Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma are India’s first-choice openers in T20I as well and they will open the innings once again. Shikhar found some form back with a half-century in second ODI and Rohit reclaimed his form with a stunning 147 runs on Sunday. Both are a key players and India will post a big total if both of them explodes on Wednesday night. The no. 1 T20 batsman in the rankings, captain Virat Kohli is expected to carry forward his good form into the shorter format. Dinesh Karthik hold 4th spot in the batting line-up in the ODI series. As he is well experienced in T20 cricket and played lot of IPL matches for Delhi Daredevils at this venue, Karthik will retain his place ahead of KL Rahul and Manish Pandey. Kedar Jadhav who was a part of T20 squad against Australia, dropped for this series and that place is about to grab by anyone of KL Rahul, Manish Pandey or Shreyas Iyer. Among those three players, Shreyas Iyer has more chances to be in the XI as he played so many memorable knocks at this venue for Delhi Daredevils and if that happens, he will make an debut in T20I. Former skipper MS Dhoni will continue to keep the wickets behind the stumps and also will take care batting duties in middle-order. His handy knock in the last ODI, quick 25 runs will boost him with confidence and some chances for him to play fire-power innings in this match.

After shown stunning all-round performances against Australia, Hardik Pandya had an average series in the ODIs against New Zealand. Now, it’s time for him to show his talents with both bat and bowl in this shorter format series. Hopefully, he will does his best in Delhi. He conceded 92 runs and picked one wicket in his 10 overs spell in that high-scoring thriller. But, apart from that spell he done his part so well throughout the season and that would includes him in the XI. Jasprit Bumrah who was a talking point of cricket world for past 2 days after his fantastic spell on Sunday, deserves a place in all your fantasy squads. Remember, he is the no. 1 T20I bowler in ICC rankings right now.



New Zealand team fought hard in the ODI series where they lost a series by 1-2. As One-day Internationals were and T20Is to begin, the no. 1 T20 team in the world New Zealand are gear up for the series and ready to provide all their best to keep their momentum in T20 circuit. New Zealand needs to win this three-match series to keep top spot safe or else they will lose the first place to Pakistan. Glenn Phillips who sat out for all three ODIs, expected to play his international T20 game on Wednesday. Captain Kane Williamson had a number of poor games in last few months, he failed in CPL T20 league and also failed in the first two ODIs on the tour. But his responsible innings of 64 in the last match shows some positiveness and he is not far away of getting back his batting form. Kane Williamson will be the key man for Black Caps. Ross Taylor has played his last T20I game back in March 2016 at this same venue Delhi. His impressive show in the ODI series brought him back to T20Is. He maintains a strike rate of 120 in his 65 T20I innings and he will be must pick player from Kiwis side. Colin Munro’s sensational knock of 75 off 64 balls in the last game brought him back to the place he belongs. He will play a crucial role in this game and also in the series. Batsman Tom Bruce place in the XI is under doubt, but Henry Nicholls has a bright chance to make in T20I lineup after his 37 off 24 balls knock on Sunday. The most consistent player in recent ODI series, wicket keeper batsman Tom Latham will take care of gloves work once again on Wednesday. He scored a tally of 206 runs in 3 innings with a half-century and century. Keep him in your teams once you realize that he going to continue his good form in this game. All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme failed to give his best in ODI series. But as no other suitable all-rounder in the squad, Grandhomme is expected to keep his place in the XI.

The bowling all-rounder Mitchell Santner is New Zealand’s first-choice spinner across formats and he will continue to offer good performances on Wednesday. Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi is in the squad, but he will come into the XI only New Zealand decides to play with 2 specialist spinners. They generally play with 3 seamers and if decides to continue the same formula, pacer Adam Milne will get a game ahead of Sodhi. Tim Southee and Trent Boult are their front-line bowlers and both of them shown characters in ODIs. Southee claimed a tally of 6 wickets in 3 matches, but the problem is economical rate. He was expensive in all 3 matches. Southee in need of bowl an economical spell with wickets. Trent Boult started India tour with 4 for 35 in 10 overs in the first ODI last week. Since then he struggled to pick wickets and remained wicket-less in last two matches. He could a key pick from New Zealand bowling unit and expecting a much impressive show from him. Matt Henry may need to wait more for his turn.
