After winning the ODI series 4-1, Team India is set to play three match T20I series against Australia begins in Ranchi on Saturday. Australia has made number of changes to their squad comparatively the ODI squad, those changes possibly help them to dominating the shorter format series. On the other side, Team India looks fresh and almost similar squad would help them to continue their good run. The 1st T20I between India vs Australia scheduled to start at 7 PM Local | 12:30 AM (Sunday) on Saturday, 7th October 2017.

INDIA :

Virat Kohli led-side had six days rest to refresh themselves after that ODI series victory, now they are all set to go in this three match series. India didn’t loss to Australia in last six T20I matches and they would looking forward to maintain the winning flow against the Aussies. Shikhar Dhawan who was withdrawn from the ODI squad due to take care of his ill wife, is back in the T20I squad. He is back into the T20I squad after quite long time. Rohit Sharma the other regular opener in limited overs, will open the innings along with Dhawan. Rohit Sharma scored 2 half-centuries and 1 century in last three ODIs recently, hopefully that form will help him to get more confidence and shine in T20s as well. Captain of the team Virat Kohli scored match winning 82 runs in the last T20I against Sri Lanka last month. The world no. 1 batsman in T20Is, Kohli has plenty of overload on him as the fans expecting big knocks from their captain. KL Rahul and Manish Pandey will be in contention for one spot in the side. Both of them has done a good job for their respective IPL teams at this position. Manish Pandey played all 5 matches in the ODI series, so it may be Rahul’s turn to make a mark in the XI.

Former Indian skipper and the wicket keeper MS Dhoni was in good form in the ODIs in recent months. But it would be a testing time for him in the T20s as he struggled to finish the match in shortest format in recent years. Dinesh Karthik is the back-up wicket keeper, at some point of time he will get his opportunities too. The Player of the series in the ODI series, all rounder Hardik Pandya has a big role to play in this game. He is in good form, especially with the bat. His hard-hitting and quick scoring ability would come into play on Saturday. Kedar Jadhav has proved his capabilities in both ODIs and T20 formats. He used to play quick knocks in late overs and his short spells also a key for the team. But chances are heavy for him to make a way for a specialist spinner. If India wants to play with three specialist quicks, then Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah will play the game along with the returning veteran Ashish Nehra. Nehra who was part of all three T20I matches in the last bilateral series against England in February this year, back in the squad and his experiences will help the side in big way. Both Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Bumrah are in good form and that confident would help them to shine in Ranchi. Yuzvendra Chahal has claimed 6 wickets in the last T20I in Indian soil back in February, will retain his place in the XI. Axar Patel has an chance to grab the place in the XI ahead of Kuldeep Yadav based on his consistency and experiences in T20 format.

AUSTRALIA :

This is going to be the last away series for Australian side before their busiest home summer season. As they have to play Ashes next, Steven Smith and his men would look to go back home with some success behind them. As per the stats, captain Smith’s last T20I appearance was in 18 months ago and David Warner has played his last T20I over an year ago. But both of them has played plenty of IPL matches in Indian tracks and they could know about the conditions really well. David Warner who smashed powerful century in this year IPL season, would be the trump card for Aussies. As usual he will open the innings along with his regular partner Aaron Finch. The number two ranked in T20Is, Aaron Finch is an well fixed player for the T20 format and he could change the game at any moment with his big hitting. Captain Steven Smith will grab his batting position at no. 3. He has played lot of IPL matches, but he is in a pressure situation of deliver it for Australia now. The power hitting all rounder Glenn Maxwell lost his place in the ODI XI in last two matches due to his falls in 2nd and 3rd matches. But when it comes to the shorter format, Glenn Maxwell deserves a place in the XI and he will make it too. His quick scoring and big sixes will help Australia to post big totals on the board.

Travis Head is the other specialist player of T20 format who played number of magical innings in BBL seasons will fight for his place in the XI with the all rounder Daniel Christian. The all rounder Moises Henriques had an average IPL season earlier this year, but he has proved plenty of things in the format. He will make into the XI and will strengthen the batting in the middle-order. Daniel Christian is the other power-hitting all rounder in the squad. He plays T20 cricket around the world and he has two T20 titles and a runner-up medal this year. He has done a good job in the IPL for his team Pune Supergiant. He may overtake Travis Head and grab the place in the XI. Tim Paine is the only specialist Wicket Keeper in the squad. He has plenty of T20 experiences with Big Bash League and he also was a part of World XI squad which played in Pakistan recently. Adam Zampa will be the lone specialist spinner in the squad. Zampa was an expensive in first few matches of the ODI series, but he came back strong and bowled well in last two games. He is one of the key bowler in Australia squad. Apart from Kane Richardson, all other three quickies are from Western Australia. They are Jason Behrendroff, Andrew Tye and Nathan Coulter-Nile. The 27-years old, Jason Behrendroff awaiting to make his debut in the international arena. He was one of the major bowler of Perth Scorchers, the current champions of BBL and he has claimed 53 wickets in his 37 T20 innings. He will be a key for Australia once he get the opportunity in the XI. After the scintillating performances in the ODI series, Nathan Coulter-Nile deserves his spot in the first place.
