The second semi-final match in the on-going Karnataka Premier League takes place on Friday evening to confirms the finalist who will face Belagavi Panthers in this year’s final. Top of the table at the end of league stage, Namma Shivamogga faces Bijapur Bulls in this entertaining knock out game on Friday. Second Semi-Final between Namma Shivamogga vs Bijapur Bulls scheduled to start at 7 PM IST on Friday, 22nd September 2017.

The biggest plus point of Namma Shivamogga camp could be the captain Balachandra Akhil, who led Bellary Tuskers to title win in last season. Before his arrival to Namma Shivamogga, the franchise has finished at no 6 in the past 2 seasons. This is the first time Shivamogga enters into knock-out stage of KPL. With 3 wins, 1 loss and 2 abandoned games, Namma Shivamogga earned 8 points and finished at top of the table. In the last match, Shivamogga defeated Mysuru Warriors by 57 runs under VJD method, the big thing was Warriors bowled out for just 52 runs in that game. The team has something to worry with the top order batting. The middle-order batting makes the team survives with a help of Shoiab Manager, Anirudha Joshi and others. But, the top order fails to score big runs in powerplay overs. The left arm spinner Abrar Kazi opened the innings in last two matches along with the young Liyan Khan. Sadiq Kirmani was back in the side, but he batted at no. 3 in that game against Warriors. Liyan Khan who scored an half-century in the first game, struggled to score runs in rest of the matches. If he wake up at right time and scores runs on Friday, he will change the game on his team favor. Sadiq Kirmani has plenty of chances to open the innings in this all important knock out game.

Abrar Kazi has bowled a dream spell on other day where he claimed 3 for 9 in his 3 overs spell against Warriors. He did not give good start at top of the order, so he will move down in the batting order. Rongsen Jonathan who scored 69* against Tigers early in the league stage, came with 38 runs knock against Warriors after back-to-back duck out innings. He is one of the key batsman for Namma Shivamogga, hopefully he will score more runs in this semifinal clash. Shoaib Manager the consistent batsman of the team in the season, scored 163 runs in 5 innings. Keep an eye on this in-form batsman who could give you lot of fantasy points. Anirudha Joshi has turned out as the finisher of Shivamogga. He played very good knocks in the league stages and his power-hitting helped the team to finish the innings in high notes. Captain Balachandra Akhil has chances to promote himself up in the order to score runs quickly. The veteran all rounder is known for big hitting and monstrous strike-rates. He also capable of picking wickets with his medium-pace bowling. Abdul Majid batted at no. 3 and scored useful 40 runs against Blasters last week. He is the regular member of the XI, but not getting much of chances to showcase his skills. The pacers T Pradeep and Aditya Somanna bowls well in each matches. Pradeep has claimed 9 wickets in 4 innings with the best figures of 4/14 against Bulls. He deserves a place in your fantasy teams. Aditya Somanna also bowls well who claimed 5 wickets in last 2 innings. He could come with another impressive spell of bowling on Friday. The other important bowler in the side is Sarfarz Ashraf, the left-arm spinner used to bowl key spells in almost every match.

After two consecutive losses in first two league matches, Bijupur Bulls came back strongly and registered 4 wins a row in remaining 4 matches. Some unusual things were happened in the results of Bulls last two matches, where they won both games by just 1 run. Bharath Chipli led-side is in good form with that 4 match winning streak and that’s could be their advantage ahead of the big semi-final clash. Captain Chipli used to open the innings with the power-hitting Mohammad Taha. Chipli has a mixed season, where he scored 2 half-centuries in two innings and struggled to score runs in all other 4 matches. His partner Mohammad Taha played lot of wonderful knocks in past seasons, but this year he managed to play the knock of 83 runs against Tigers, but failed in all other matches. He is a big game changer for Bulls in this semifinal. If Taha bats well, Bulls could reach the big score at end of their innings. The wicket keeper AM Kiran promoted to no. 3 in the last game and played handy innings of 33 runs. M Nidhish who played consistently well in the middle-order for Bulls, failed to score runs in last 2 matches. He is the key in Bulls middle-order, hopefully will play some good knock in this game.

The all rounder Gneshwar Naveen shines with a ball in almost every innings, but he struggles a lot with the bat. Bulls tried him in various batting positions, but he failed to score runs in all those positions. Dikshanshu Negi found some form in last 2 matches, that would possibly help him to shine in this game as well. HS Sharath keeps his place in the XI consistently, but he yet to provide his best with both bat and bowl. Abhimanyu Mithun and Ronit More are key bowlers of Bulls unit. Abhimanyu Mithun is the leader of pace attack and he claimed 8 wickets in 6 innings. He has lot of IPL experiences which help him in this crucial encounter. Ronit More has started the season with 4 wicket haul against Warriors. He claimed 9 wickets in 6 innings and generally bowls good economical spells for Bulls. The spinner KC Cariappa plays a good role with a bowl. He used to bowl an economical spells frequently and also picks crucial wickets. As Bulls are doing a good job with 4 consecutive victories on their side, expecting them to play with an unchanged XI on Friday.
