As the league stage of the on-going Karnataka Premier League season 6 was over, the knock-out stages begins with the first semi-final clash between Hubli Tigers vs Belagavi Panthers. As the winner of this match will advances to this year final, both teams looks confident and ready to seal the final spot. The first semi-final scheduled to start at 7 PM IST on Wednesday, 20th September 2017.

HUBLI TIGERS :

Captain Mayank Agarwal and his team found a way to be back in winning ways at right time and sealed the place in Semi-Final. After winning first 3 matches in a row, Hubli Tigers lost next two matches and played a must win game on Tuesday night. For a surprise, Mayank Agarwal took over the captaincy from Vinay Kumar in the last game. With the help of the openers fine batting and Abhishek Sakuja’s stunning bowling performance, Hubli Tigers defeated Bellary Tuskers by 8 runs in rain interrupted match. The openers Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Reddy are in good form and that’s the key for Tigers at top of the order. Swapnil Yelave promoted to no. 3 on last night and he managed to score 17 runs. Tigers used to shuffle their batting order consistently and that means no batting positions are confirmed for any batsman except the openers. The wicket keeper Rohith Gowda got a second chance in the last game, chances for him to retain his place in the XI once again.

All round performances by Vinay Kumar helped Hubli Tigers to register hat-trick of victories in first set of matches. But he struggled to perform in last few matches. As its semi-final, big comeback is expected from Vinay Kumar. Krishnamurthy Siddharth missed out in the XI against Tuskers last night, no clue whether he is injured or not. If he is available today, he will play pillar role in the middle-order. Kranthi Kumar helps with his firing knocks in the end overs and also with crucial bowling spells. He scored 29 off 15 balls and picked 1 for 26 in the last game. Keep him in your fantasy teams to get assure points. The all rounder Ritesh Bhatkal facing tough times with a bat, but he bowls well and picks crucial wickets at crucial times. He might play better game on Wednesday night. The key wicket taker in Tigers squad, Abhishek Sakuja claimed two more wickets in the last game. With those two wickets, Sakuja claimed 13 wickets in 6 matches and he will increase his tally further more later tonight. Harish Kumar and Aman Khan are the other important bowlers in Tigers lineups.

BELAGAVI PANTHERS :

Belagavi Panthers finished with 7 points in the league stage and advanced to the semi-final as a fourth team. Panthers were at top of the table at one point of time as they won 3 out of first 4 matches. But results of last two matches gone against them and pushed Panthers down to 4th in the points table. The all rounder Stalin Hoover opens the batting in last few matches along with wicket keeper batsman BR Sharath. Hoover plays consistently well at top of the order and scored 62 and 23 runs respectively in his last 2 innings. Hoover picked only 3 wickets in 6 innings, but his current batting form makes you to keep him in your teams. His partner Sharath’s poor run continues as he yet to score 20+ runs in an innings this season. As it’s a knock out game, Sharath needs to come with big runs in this game. There is no clue why the out of form batsman KN Bharath keeps getting chances in Panthers XI. He may get another chance tonight.

The all rounder Stuart Binny is the key player in Panthers squad who contributes well with both bat and bowl. Binny brings all his T20 experience into the frame and plays good knocks for Panthers. Hopefully, that will continue tonight as well. Sunil Kumar Jain has chances to surprises all with an impressive batting knock tonight. S Rakshith keeps his place in the XI as he scores useful runs at an impressive strike-rate every time. D Avinash had a good game against Bulls where he shine with both bat and ball. First he claimed 3 for 32 in his 4 overs and then scored 18 off 12 with a bat. He also bowled well against Tuskers. Captain of the team Sreenath Aravind could be the game changer for Panthers. He has plenty of IPL experiences on his back and that would help him to bring A-game in this knock-out match. Shubang Hedge bowled controlled spells in last two matches and picked one wicket in each innings. Kishore Kamat also has key role to play in this game against Tigers on Wednesday night.
