West Indies tour of England continues with fresh five match ODI series which begins at Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday. The home team England won three match test series 2-1, but the T20 World Champions West Indies defeated England in one-off T20I on Saturday. Now, both teams involves in last phase of the tour, 5 ODIs. First ODI between England vs West Indies scheduled to start at 12:30 PM Local | 5 PM IST on Tuesday, 19th September 2017.

England won three match ODI series with clean-sweep against West Indies earlier this year, when England toured West Indies. As England shows dominance in the limited overs format especially at home conditions, Eoin Morgan and his men will approach this series opener with lot of positiveness. Captain Eoin Morgan will lead the team once again in this ODI series and he has bunch of talented players in the squad. The regular openers of England in ODIs, Alex Hales and Jason Roy are in the squad and they will open the innings once again. Hales has great season throughout 2017 home season, where he scored plenty of runs in all 3 formats. He shined with runs during Champions Trophy and he also played lot of match winning knocks for Nottinghamshire Outlaws in both domestic One-Day and T20 competitions. He is one of the notable batsman in England squad and expects some good knock from him on Tuesday. Jason Roy struggled to score runs in ODIs against Ireland, South Africa and also in Champions Trophy. But he regained his form during the domestic season and scored plenty of runs for Surrey. He dismissed for duck in one-off T20I, but could play much better innings in this game. The most trustable batsman in England squad, the test captain Joe Root has a big role to play in this series as well. So many runs are going to come from his bat, keep him in your team consistently.

Captain Eoin Morgan had poor outings in both T20 Blast and CPL tournaments. He also managed to score only 2 runs in T20I on Saturday. But, he is quite dangerous and key player in 50 overs format and expecting captain knock from him on Tuesday. England has two wicket keeper batsman in their squad, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow. The regular member of England test squad, Jonny Bairstow played T20I game against West Indies on Saturday. But it seems he has to wait for his chances in ODIs as England has well quality all rounders in the middle order and also has Jos Buttler to do wicket keeping job. Buttler smashed lots of runs for Lancashire during T20 Blast and his current form will make you to pick him in your fantasy teams. The prime all rounders Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali will offer their best with both bat and bowl. Stokes did too good job for England throughout this summer and expecting him finish the season in high. Moeen Ali also had a great season, as he bats at lower down the order in ODIs, his bowling has more to do in this series. The bowling all rounder Chris Woakes is back in England’s ODI squad since Champions Trophy. He is one of the big impact bowler of England in ODIs, who strikes with wickets quite regularly and that skill will help him to shine at Manchester on Tuesday. England has strong pace attack with Liam Plunkett, David Willey, Jake Ball and young Tom Curran. Liam Plunkett proved as a consistent bowler who could pick wickets in almost every match and he will lead the pace attack for England. Willey also has good experience at this stage of his career, hopefully he will take wickets in power-play overs and give you the points which you are looking for. Adil Rashid is the lone specialist spinner in the team, who shines with an economical spells and wickets in middle-overs.

The best part of West Indies squad are, they brought back in Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels to the ODIs. Jason Holer led-side are boosted up as those most experienced batsmen back in the squad. The biggest storm of World Cricket, Chris Gayle finally earned a place in this ODI squad. His last ODI appearance was against New Zealand in Quarter-Final during World Cup 2015. After 2 and half years time, the 37-year power-hitter found a place in the squad. He is the most experienced opener and expects big innings from Gayle on Tuesday. The regular opener of West Indies limited overs side for past one year so, Evin Lewis will open the innings along with Gayle. As Lewis and Gayle opened the innings for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in this year CPL, both of them has good understanding and smashes the ball all over the park. That trend was continued in the one-off T20I on Saturday as well. Hope brothers Kyle and Shai Hope retained their places in the ODI squad. Both of them has played good knocks in their last ODI series against India back in home. But as Gayle is back, Kyle Hope will misses out from the XI and has to wait for his turn. Shai Hope will play big role for West Indies with both bat and his wicket keeping duties. The promising 23-year old youngster has plenty of talents and he took the team to register history making test victory with his centuries in both innings against England last month.

The vice-captain of the side, Jason Mohammed taken a responsibilities in quick-time of his ODI career. He is the strong batsman in West Indies middle-order at the moment and he is expected to play good knock in this game. The returning back Marlon Samuels would look to score runs as much as he can in this series. He is back into the West Indies ODI series almost after one year gap. With his experiences, Samuels is expected to play key role in middle-order. Rovman Powell, the batting all rounder retains his place in the ODI squad. He was overlooked in ODIs, hopefully he will get his chance on Tuesday and explore his skills with both bat and bowl. Captain Jason Holder has improved his skills and started to shine with both bat and bowl. He had a good series against India earlier this year, that form is expected to continue in this game as well. The off-spinner Ashley Nurse and leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo are the specialist spinners in the side. Nurse has done a good job in ODIs during the home season this year, it’s time for him to shine in overseas now. Bishoo had some decent ODI series against India in July, hopefully he will do good job against the strong England batting unit. Jerome Taylor who returns to ODI squad after more than 1 year time, expected to play this game as he bowled well in recent T20 matches. Kesrick Williams, Alzaari Joseph and Miguel Cummins are the other pace bowlers in West Indies squad. Kesrick Williams is the wicket taking bowler and he deserves a place in the XI ahead of Miguel Cummins. Therefore, Miguel Cummins could be the man who expected to sit out for this game.
