Two teams which finished at top two spots in the points table, Trinbago Knight Riders and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots meets in the First Qualifier on Tuesday night. Winner of this game will qualify for the Grand Final and the losing side will get another chance to go final by playing in Eliminator later this week. CPL 1st Qualifier between Trinbago Knight Riders vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is scheduled to start at 7:59 PM Local | 5:29 AM IST (Wednesday) on Tuesday, 5th September 2017.



Dwayne Bravo and his team advanced to the play-offs with 8 wins out of 10 matches during the league stage. They had series of victories, they won 6 matches in a row and lost the last league game to Barbados Tridents two days ago. Brendon McCullum played a major role in Knight Riders batting in recent matches. He has no part in the side for the remainder of the tournament, as he has been ruled out due to fractured arm. Former all rounder from Australia, Daniel Christian has added into the squad as a replacement player. Knight Riders used to open the innings with McCullum and Sunil Narine. As McCullum is not available, Darren Bravo has a chance to open the innings along with Narine. Wicket keeper Denesh Ramdin also has a possibility to open it for TKR. Colin Munro was in terrific form throughout the league matches, he scored 275 runs in 10 innings. Sunil Narine, played one big knock at top of the order. But he used to bowl well controlled spell of off-spin bowling and picked 9 wickets. Narine has an huge role to play in this crucial game.

All rounders Dwayne Bravo and Shadab Khan take care of batting in the middle-order. Shadab was returned to the squad in the last game and expecting the young spinner to bowl dream spell on Tuesday. Dan Christian will come into the XI straightaway and he was in good form during recently concluded T20 Blast. Robert Frylinck’s place might be in danger, as he failed to perform match after match. Kevon Cooper who was sidelined for several matches now, may come back into the side. Javon Searles had better games in last two outing and that safe his place in the lineup. Ashley Nurse is one of the experienced bowler in the team, but he used to bowl expensive spells in recent matches. He was in great form, may get back his form at right time in this match. Anderson Phillip will make a way for Ronsford Beaton who bowled better spells than other pacers.



With 6 victories, 3 losses and 1 abandoned match, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots finished at second in points table. They have qualified with the stunning victory in their last league match against Barbados Tridents on Sunday night. The power hitting openers Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis guided the team to huge 10 wickets win with 13 overs to spare. With that big win, Patriots brought back into the winning ways and that win will boost them up ahead of this crucial clash against Knight Riders. The big star of T20 format, Chris Gayle leads Patriots side and he plays well as an individual too. He opens the innings with Evin Lewis and both power hitters providing unimaginable starts to the team. Evin Lewis smashed 97 not out off just 32 balls in the last game. He scored 349 runs in 9 innings and more to come from his bat. Chris Gayle also plays well and both openers deserves a place in fantasy teams. Mohammad Hafeez bat at no. 3 and bowls off-spin. He struggles to score runs at poor strike rate, but bowls so well with an economical spells and also picks wickets at crucial times.

All rounders Mohammad Nabi, Jonathan Carter and Carlos Brathwaite plays big role in the middle order of Patriots. Mohammad Nabi continued to bowl well in almost each matches. He claimed 9 wickets in 10 matches and bowled an economical spells every time. Carlos Brathwaite had an average season, but he came with stunning spell of 4 for 15 in the last game against Tridents. Brandon King was back in the XI in the last game by replacing Samuel Badree. The wicket keeper Devon Thomas used to bat at lower down the order, but he was promoted to 4th in the last game. Samuel Badree has a chance to be back in the XI, as he is one of the main wicket taking and experienced bowler in T20 cricket. The pacer Sheldon Cottrell was back in the XI after missed out lot of matches. He bowled well in both recent matches and deserves a place in the XI. Australia’s Ben Hilfenhaus was too expensive and that would make him to sit out on Tuesday. Tabraiz Shamsi is expected to play a big role for Patriots in this game.
