Tamil Nadu Premier League – Season 2 hosts twenty-second league match of the season on Wednesday in Dindigul. Chepauk Super Gillies, the team at second in the points table faces Ruby Trichy Warriors in this clash. Trichy Warriors is in a position of win all three remaining matches to keep some hope in the tournament. Match between Chepauk Super Gillies vs Ruby Trichy Warriors scheduled to start at 7:15 PM IST on Wednesday, 9th August 2017.



Runner-up of the inaugural season, Chepauk Super Gillies has won 4 out of 5 matches till now. They have two more league matches to play before the play-offs. Super Gillies has a bright chances to register their 5th victory in the season as they are facing 7th in the table Trichy Warriors on Wednesday. Captain of the side, Rajagopal Sathish has average season with the bat, but he done a great job with a bowl. The openers Gopinath and Thalaivan Sargunam providing consistent starts almost in every match. Super Gillies middle-order looks bit inconsistent which is the only weak area of the team in this season. Spinners Sai Kishore and Alexander done their parts well by bowling economical and wicket taking spells frequently.

Gopinath has shown consistent performances with a bat till now. He scored 54*, 37, 1, 45* and 23 runs respectively. As Trichy Warriors bowling attack looks not so consistent at the moment, Gopinath is expected to score an another 50+ runs in this game. His partner Sargunam has played two important knocks, he scored 52* against Kovai Kings and 41 against Super Giant in the last game. Both the openers of Super Gillies deserves a place in Fantasy teams. Wicket keeper S Karthik is batting at no. 3, he scored 100 runs in 4 innings so far. His highest score was 41 against Veerans in the first game. Sathiamoorthy Saravanan and Uthirasamy Sasidev bats in the middle-order along with the captain Rajagopal Sathish. Sasidev played some decent and crucial knocks for Super Gillies in recent matches. He could play another crucial knock in the end overs. Saravanan is yet to score more than 20 runs in an innings, his highest score was 18 runs against Veerans in the first game. As we see above, captain Sathish performing well with bowl, but not with bat. He scored only 44 runs in 5 innings, which includes two duck outs. But he claimed 7 wickets in 5 matches and bowled well economical overs in almost each innings. Antony Dhas picked only one wicket in 5 innings, but he contributed runs with a bat. He scored 43 runs and 26 runs respectively in his two innings where he got an opportunity to bat. Yo Mahesh finally bowled some good spell in the game where he picked 1 for 14 runs. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore bowled really well and claimed 1o wickets in 5 innings, the best part was his 5 wickets haul against Kaalai few days ago. Ashwanth  Mukumthan may make his return to the XI on Thursday. Alexander bowled bit costly overs in the last game, but he deserves a place in the XI.



Two points alone after played 4 matches pushed Ruby Trichy Warriors to second bottom in the points table. As three matches are left to play, Warriors has some chances to stay alive in the series for that they have to win all those remaining matches with good margin. Based on their current form, it is not easy for them to defeat Super Gillies and they faces very strong challenge on Wednesday. The top three batsmen in the order, Bharath Shankar, captain Baba Indrajith and Nilesh Subramaniam doing good with bat. Captain Indrajith playing consistently well and scored 151 runs in 4 innings. But it was not enough for him to take his team home every time. Bharath Shankar also played 3 crucial knocks in four innings where he scored 40, 33 and 53 runs respectively. It wasn’t great season for Nilesh, but he manages to play handy cameos till now. All three of them are the big hope of Warriors batting, expecting them to score some important runs in this game as well.

Middle-order batsmen Adithya Giridhar and Aditya Ganesh struggles to score runs. Giridhar scored only 19 runs in 3 innings. Adithya Ganesh has played some better innings in the last game by scoring 24 runs in 19 balls. He keeps the wicket for Trichy Warriors. The all rounder Jagadeesan Kousik bowls expensive spells very often, he claimed 4 wickets in 4 innings. With a bat, he played one good innings in the last match against Dragons. Akkil Srinaath bowled one match winning spell against Super Giant and also named player of the match in that game. He has to play huge role in this game as Warriors needs a win desperately. Kannan Vignesh bowls an economical spells with his left arm spin, but he fails to take wickets. Rajamani Jesuraj finally got a game in the last match and claimed 2 wickets for 17 runs. He deserves a place in the XI and hope for some more wickets from him. Jagannathan Kaushik picked 5 wickets in 4 innings, but he concedes lots of runs in his spells.
