T20 Blast


Fantastic Friday is back and Natwest T20 Blast gives us seven T20 Thrillers. In one of that thriller, Yorkshire Vikings hosts Lancashire Lightning in the North Group match. Both teams played 11 matches each and has 11 points each at this point of the tournament. Match between Yorkshire Vikings vs Lancashire Lightning scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Local | 11 PM IST on Friday, 11th August 2017.



Yorkshire Vikings has won 4 matches out of first 7 matches. Since then Yorkshire has faced hat-trick losses in last 3 matches. Vikings batsmen performs well than their bowlers. Adam Lyth, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Shaun Marsh, David Willey and Pakistan Captain Sarfraz Ahmed are playing well for Vikings. Lyth and Kohler-Cadmore used to give good opening stand for Vikings. All rounder David Willey generally bats at no. 3 for Vikings. He is in mixed batting form and also in mixed bowling form. He shown all round performances in the last game. Shaun Marsh was dropped in the last game, expecting him to be back in the side on Friday. Pakistan’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed joined Yorkshire Vikings recently and scored 42 runs straightaway in his first match. Jack Leaning and captain Tim Bresnan bats in the lower middle-order. Captain Tim Bresnan is under pressure as he struggles to bowl well in recent matches. He has to play well to take back the team into winning ways. England’s Adil Rashid and Steven Patterson are the other important bowlers in the side. Mathew Fisher bowls expensive spells, he has chances to be dropped from the XI.



Just like Yorkshire Vikings, Lancashire Lightning also won 4 matches out of 11 attempts till now. They are equals with Vikings by having 11 points. Lightning has very good batting unit in their side. The openers Karl Brown and Liam Livingstone gives decent starts for Lightning. The experienced power-hitter Jos Buttler is in the squad to lift the scoreboard to bigger targets. He has scored 2 half-centuries in last 3 matches. His form is the biggest energy for his team. Dane Vilas struggled to score runs in mid of the season, but he batted so well in last 2 innings. He scored 40 and 32 runs respectively in those matches. The veteran all rounder Ryan McLaren plays an huge role for Lightning. He smashed 77 runs against Northamptonshire recently. He concedes runs but know the way to pick wickets which makes him a key player. The captain Steven Croft and Jordan Clark are the other all rounders who bats in the lower middle-order. It wasn’t a great season with bat for Steven Croft. Mathew Parkinson and Junaid Khan are doing a good job with a bowl. These two bowlers are the key for Lightning bowling attack. Stephen Parry, the spinner also bowls well in the middle-overs with an economical spells.
