T20 BLAST – SURREY VS GLOUCESTERSHIRE – FANTASY PREVIEW

Tonight in T20 Blast, South Group teams Surrey and Gloucestershire face-off in an important clash. Six teams are tied up with 12 points at the moment and these two teams sits at 7 and 8th position respectively. South Group match between Surrey vs Gloucestershire is schedule to begin at 6:30 PM Local | 11 PM IST on Thursday, 17th August 2017.

SURREY :

Surrey played 12 matches till now and sits at no. 7 in group points table with 12 points. They have 5 wins and 5 losses, two other matches were abandoned due to rain. Surrey defeated Sussex in most recent match on last Sunday. Now they have 2 more matches to play and they have chances to make a quarter-final if win both of those matches. Surrey named 13-men squad for this encounter. Mark Stoneman has joined England squad which faces West Indies in a test series. So, Rory Burns comes into Surrey squad, also the wicket keeper Ben Foakes named in the squad. With this 13-men squad, we understands that Ollie Hope and Stuart Meaker has bright chances to warm the bench. Jason Roy and Aaron Finch batted so well in that last game. That beast mode is expected to continue in this game as well. Batting all rounder Moises Henriques is also in the squad, who are well experienced and game changer in the format. Rory Burns and Wicket Keeper Ben Foakes will handle the middle-order batting with their quick scoring techniques. The experienced all rounder Rikki Clarke and Sam Curran are in the squad who could offer all round performances with both bat and ball. Captain Gareth Batty picked 4 for 24 in the last game. He has huge responsibilities on his shoulders and hopefully, he will come with another good spell. Scott Borthwick bowled expensively, therefore some chances for Meaker to get a game at Lord’s tonight. The wicket-taking bowler Jade Darnbach is a key bowler who could change the game with wickets.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE :

Gloucestershire is in quite bad shape at the moment after losing last three matches in a row. The batting collapses were the major reason for those recent losses. They managed to score only 121 for 8 against Essex and 100 all out against Middlesex on Tuesday night. Captain of the team Michael Klinger failed to score runs in recent matches. He dismissed without score a run in the last game. His partner Phil Mustard scored single digit runs in both matches. Ian Cockbain and Cameron Bancroft will keep their places in the XI. Both of them starts well but fails in converting into big scores. All rounder Benny Howell is an only consistent performer for Gloucestershire in recent times. He fights hard with both bat and bowl and he deserves places in all Fantasy teams. Jack Taylor plays some key role in the lower middle-order and also with a bowl. Kieran Noema-Barnett’s place is in jeopardy as he wasted all his chances. Thomas Smith claimed 5 wickets in last 2 games and expects similar performances from him against Gloucestershie. David Payne is an one of the important wicket-taking bowler in the side. He picked 2 for 27 against Middlesex. He may bowl another wicket-taking spell tonight. Either Chris Liddle and Matt Taylor will get a game in place of Craig Miles.
