T20 Blast

Two months long Natwest T20 Blast Tournament reaches the knock-out stage after completed the league stage. In this week, the tournament hosts series of Quarter-Final matches which begins on Tuesday. In the first Quarter-Final match, Derbyshire hosts Hampshire at County Ground in Derby. First quarter final between Derbyshire vs Hampshire is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Local | 11 PM IST on Tuesday, 22nd August 2017.

Derbyshire Falcons advances to Quarter-Final by finishing at second in the north group points table. Derbyshire earned 17 points with 8 wins, 5 losses and 1 no result. Derbyshire has named 15 men squad for this epic match and their captain Gary Wilson returned to the side which is the big news for Falcons. Derbyshire played with an unchanged 11 in their last 3 league matches. But the return of Wilson assures at least one change for this game against Hampshire. Billy Godleman and Matthew Critchley opens the innings for Derbyshire. Godleman managed to score only single digit runs in his last 4 T20 innings. He struggles a lot at the moment, but he will keep his place in the XI. Critchley batted well against Leicestershire few days ago, where he scored 72 runs. He also bowls as a part-timer. Good start is expected from this opening batsman and once he gets going, you will earn lots of Fantasy points.

Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen bats at no. 3 and 4 respectively. Reece scored matched winning half-century against Durham last week while Madsen came with fighting half-century against Worcestershire in the last league match on last Friday. Both are good and experienced batters who could offer surprising big knocks on any day. Either Calum Brodrick or Alex Hughes will make a way for Gary Wilson. Based on less experiences, Brodrick has a maximum of changes to left out from the XI. Alex Hughes did not play an impressive knocks in last few matches. He is well experienced at this stage of his career and that would help him to shine in this knockout match. Wicket keeper Daryn Smit bats at no. 7 or 8 in the batting order, based on situation he will come up in the order and surprise you with good scores. The spin magic Imran Tahir is in the squad of Derbyshire which strengthen the bowling unit to the core. Tahir had few bad matches in between, but performed so well in last two league matches. He claimed 1 for 14 in 4 overs against Leicestershire and also picked 4 for 17 in 4 overs against Worcestershire. If he continue to play with that form, surely he will win the game for Derbyshire. Matt Henry, Hardus Viljoen and Ben Cotton are the regular bowlers in the squad of Derbyshire. Matt Henry used to bowl expensive spells quite often but his wicket taking skills compensates those expensive spells. Hardus Viljoen done a great job in the last game where he picked 2 for 20 in 4 overs. Ben Cotton also done a good job in that game by claiming 2 for 14 runs. Gary Wilson coming in, that’s the only change are expected in Derbyshire XI.

Hampshire finished at 3 in the South Group points table with 15 points. James Vince led-side has won 7 matches, lost 6 and other one ended in No result. Hampshire yet to name their squad for this particular match, but Mason Crane’s availability was confirmed. Hampshire opens the batting with captain James Vince and the wicket keeper Calvin Dickinson. Vince leads from the front by playing consecutive knocks for his team. He scored back-to-back half-century in recent matches. Waiting for another big knock from this T20 specialist player on Tuesday. His partner Dickinson played a stunning knock of 51 off 24 balls against Kent last week. If gives the similar start for Hampshire on Tuesday, he will gives you lot of fantasy points. As a wicket keeper he deserves a place in your fantasy teams. Tom Alsop is the regular no. 3 batsman for Hampshire. The 21-years old played several 30+ runs knocks for Hampshire and those coming in quick time from his bat. Veteran Australian George Bailey playing for Hampshire. He is in mixed of form, he is well experienced in T20 format and expects fighting knock from him in this do or die game.

Hampshire’s middle order filled with Sean Ervine and all rounders Shahid Afridi and Liam Dawson. The most experienced player Boom Boom Afridi is in Hampshire squad. He bowls well controlled spells for Hampshire and also claiming wickets. He did not get much of batting opportunities this year, may be will move up in the order to muscle his arms against Derby on Tuesday. Liam Dawson who are released from England test squad, plays good cricket here for Hampshire. He conceded 40 runs against Somerset in the last game, other than that he bowled good spells in other recent matches. Gareth Berg is in mixed bowling form, he lacks in consistency. Kyle Abbott who bowled consistently well, gone expensive in the last game. But he is experienced campaigner who could turns the things quickly. He is a key bowler of Hampshire and also for your fantasy teams. The spinner Mason Crane’s inclusion will be a great boost for the team. Chris Wood bowled some expensive spells in recent matches and that makes his place in doubt for this game. Scotland’s Brad Wheal added into the squad, that means he will fight for one position along with Chris Wood. Based on Wheal’s recent performances, he has bright chance to play in this quarter-final. LATEST UPDATE – Hampshire has named 14-men squad for this clash. Michael Carberry is back in the squad and he is expected to replaces Sean Ervine who did not contribute much in the middle order. Carberry possibly bats at no. 3 which is his regular position.

Hii… Chances are high for Carberry to replace Sean Ervine.. Carberry generally bats in the top order, so he will bat at no. 3 and Alsop will bat at 4 in our prediction… Thanks.
