TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS :

The Champions of 2015 season, Trinbago Knight Riders started their new season with the thumbing victory against St. Lucia Stars at St. Lucia. The captain Dwayne Bravo returned from injuries which made him out of cricket for past 7 months. His arrival is the biggest boost for the team and it shown in the first game when they defeated Stars by 9 wickets. The big victory will allow TKR to go play with the same XI on Monday night. It was a clinical batting and bowling performances by Knight Riders. New Zealand duo Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro scored their respective half-centuries and finished the game in style in 11th over itself. McCullum who struggled in T20 Blast matches recently, found his astonishing form back and smashed 58 off just 27 balls. If he continues his run fest, he will be big headache for opponents. Colin Munro had a good outing last year and he started well this year too. He scored 66 off 39 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Hope for another good knock from this Kiwis batsman. Sunil Narine who emerged as an all rounder in this year, opened the innings along with McCullum. Unfortunately, he dismissed on the very first ball he faced, but he would get an another chance to open the innings. We witnessed how dangerous he was when opened the innings for KKR in IPL. The magical spinner Narine, remained wicket less in that last game but bowled controlled spell. He could come with wickets this time around.

Batsman Darren Bravo is awaiting for his chances to score runs for TKR. He played so well in past and expects the same this season too. Denesh Ramdin, the experienced wicket keeper is in the side to strengthen the batting in the middle-order. Captain Dwayne Bravo bowled well in the first game and 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. He deserves the place in each Fantasy teams. T20 specialist, all rounder Kevon Cooper is the another notable all rounder in Knight Riders line-up. His power hitting abilities in lower middle-order and bowling skills would give you enough points. The young 18-years old all rounder from Pakistan, Shadab Khan made his CPL debut with his match winning performances. He claimed 2 for 15 in his 4 fours spells which rewarded him man of the match award in that game. Khary Pierre, the other debutant in the format had an average outing with bowl. But he deserves an another chance in this game. Ronsford Beaton also had a good game and expects another good spell from this pace bowler.

ST. LUCIA STARS :

St. Lucia Zouks now known as St. Lucia Stars and they are playing under the captaincy of Darren Sammy once again. It wasn’t a great start for the Stars as they faced a huge defeat against Trinbago Knight Riders in the opening game. There were a big surprises for all when Stars played without Shane Watson in that previous game. He is one of the most experienced all rounder in the format, he will return to the XI as Stars needs to come out and register their first win in the season. Johnson Charles who was the regular member of West Indies squad sidelined for several months now, after his several poor performances. He looks forward to play well for Stars and get back his place in West Indies squad. But his poor batting continued as he dismissed for just 2 runs in that first match. He is well talented opener, expecting him to bat well in this game. Remember his impressive knocks in last season. The hard-hitting Andre Fletcher also struggling with form, he scored 26 runs but faced 27 balls to score that runs. He give surprises to all by performing suddenly. The most runs scorer of PSL 2017, Kamran Akmal is in the side and he will take care of wicket keeping duties. He also had a poor outing in that first match, but expecting fight back knock from Kamran. New Zealand hard-hitter Jesse Ryder who replaced David Miller in the squad, had an average match. He scored 18 runs off 22 balls, which may sideline him and make a way for Shane Watson.

The veteran Marlon Samuels who earned man of the match awards twice for West Indies when they won World T20 Championships. He is in the side of Stars, but his performances was not much impressive other day. Keeps an eye on him, he could stun you with him match winning knocks. Captain Darren Sammy conceded 21 runs in just one over on other night. He has an huge role to play for Stars and expects much better performances from this big player. Rahkeem Cornwall also conceded at 13.5 runs per over in his 2 overs spell other night. His chances are 50-50, if he misses out, Eddie Leie or Shane Shillinford will get an opportunity in the XI. All rounder Kyle Mayers was the only player who scored at strike rate of over 150 in the first game for Stars. He may move up in the order to showcase batting skills better. Mitchell McClenaghan conceded at 12 runs per over in that first game, but never judge him with one match. He was one of the major wicket taking bowler in IPL, that experiences would help him to be back with stunning spells. Veteran Jerome Taylor bowled some better spell than others and also picked a wicket in his very first over. He may bowl another good spell, at the same time chances are high for him to concede lot of runs this time. Obed McCoy had a poor start in that previous game where he conceded 28 runs in 2 overs. Legspinner from USA, Timil Patel has chances to play by replacing McCoy. Timil has picked 10 wickets in 6 matches in his T20 career with best spell of 3/13. He may surprises us by playing in this game.
