Kieron Pollard led-side, Barbados Tridents starts their series of home matches with the match against Guyana Amazon Warriors on Tuesday. The visitors are at 4th place in points table right now with 6 points and the home team are at fifth with just 4 points. Both teams looks to win crucial 2 points in this game and that makes this encounter much interesting. Match 25 between Barbados Tridents vs Guyana Amazon Warriors scheduled to start at 6 PM Local | 3:30 AM IST (Wednesday) on Tuesday, 29th August 2017.

Barbados Tridents started the season with an impressive 12 runs win against Tallawahs. But lost the very next match to the same Tallawahs. In the 3rd match Tridents raised again and registered their second win in the season. Since that win, Tridents faced hat-trick of losses which pushed them down to fifth in the points table. Their most recent loss was came against their opponent for Tuesday, Guyana Amazon Warriors an week ago. Captain Kieron Pollard plays lone hand for Tridents in various situations. Bowlers and batters failed to show consistency in their performances and that made Tridents to end in losing side every time. The experienced openers Dwayne Smith and Kane Williamson opens the innings for Tridents. Kane Williamson who known as one of the batting icon of current generation, struggles to score runs and ate lots of balls in all previous matches. He consistently played under the strike rate of 100, which were not on his standards. He is expected to step-up on Tuesday, as the home leg starts. Dwayne Smith smashed a century in the last game against Amazon Warriors, but he took 70 deliveries to achieve the feat. In the end, his century in vain as Tridents lost by 4 wickets. Smith needs to score runs with much better strike rate at the top of the order.

As Pakistan Cricket Board allowed players to continue their participation in CPL, duo Shoaib Malik and Wahab Riaz are expected to be back in the playing XI for this game. The experienced batting all rounder Shoaib Malik scored one half-century only in 5 innings, but he is the special player in Tridents squad who could change the course of the match with his batting skills. Captain Kieron Pollard makes his name in either bat or bowl in each matches. He smashed three half-centuries already at monstrous strike rates and he also shined with the ball when he claimed 4 for 16 against Warriors in the last game. He is a must pick player for this game and expects higher fantasy points. The young wicket keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran’s poor season continuous as he scored only 68 runs in 6 innings which includes a duck out in the last game. Pooran was a find of the season last year, but struggles a this time. Hopefully, the home leg will bring the best out of him.

Tridents lower middle-order looks weaker with out-of-form Chris Barnwell and Shamar Springer. Both of them struggled a lot and failed to score runs every time. Springer contributes with some good spell of bowling. Tion Webster may retain his place for Barnwell. Akeal Hossain used to bowl some decent spells where he claims crucial wickets with better economical spells. This is the first poor CPL season for Ravi Rampaul. The experienced bowler conceded lots of runs every time, he should bowl wicket taking spell on Tuesday and expects it form him. The bowling all rounder Wayne Parnell contributes with both bat and bowl. He claimed 6 wickets in 6 innings with the best of 3 for 28. He bowls an economical spells and also offer runs when ever gets a chance to bat. Wahab Riaz is expected to play in this clash. He bowled really well in first three matches. He has to bowl spells like that on Tuesday. He possibly surprises all with his wicket taking skills on Tuesday night. Imran Khan and Tino Best are other notable bowlers in the squad. Eoin Morgan added to Tridents squad recently, he also has chances to play in this game.

Just two more matches are left to play for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the on-going league stages. After played 8 matches, Amazon Warriors has 3 wins and 5 losses to their name. With just 6 points, Warriors requires dramatical huge wins in next 2 matches to stay alive in the playoff chances. After losing first 3 matches in a row, Amazon Warriors won their first game. Then again lost 2 consecutive matches some days back. The positive side of Warriors are they won their most recent 2 matches and won it in a big way. They would take that confident into this must win game and would focus to register a hat-trick wins. Just like Kane Williamson, his country man and captain of Amazon Warriors Martin Guptill struggles a lot and scores at poor strike rate. Guptill moved himself down from opening position to four in the batting order. Wicket keeper batsman Chadwick Walton opened the innings along with the bowling all rounder Sohail Tanvir in last 2 matches.

Except the last game, Walton contributed with runs in all other matches. He generally contributes with 30+ scores quite often and scored 92 runs against Tridents. He is a key batsman in Warriors line-up. Sohail Tanvir scored much useful 39 runs in the last game. He is the star and most impact bowler of Amazon Warriors and done the same in this season as well. He claimed 8 wickets in with best of 3 for 40. He is yet to bring his A game and quite possibly that would come out in this clash. Captain Martin Guptill, Jason Mohammed and Gajanand Singh bats at crucial 3, 4 and 5. Guptill had must needed one week break, hopefully he will come with bang on Tuesday. Jason Mohammed played few good knocks, but it was not on his standards. His best yet to come, hopefully he will shine on Tuesday. Babar Azam wasted all his chances in the season, so he wont get back into XI again.

Luke Ronchi, the hard-hitting wicket keeper added to Warriors squad and chances for him to play on Tuesday. Gajanand Singh played little cameos in the middle order, he will continue the same in the remaining matches as well. Assad Fudadin might make a way for Luke Ronchi, if he is available for this game. Keemo Paul played 6 matches, but yet to pick a wicket. He might make a way for either Steven Taylor or Roshon Primus. Magician from Afghanistan Rashid Khan plays huge role in Amazon Warriors bowling unit. He bowls economical spells quite often and also claims at least 2 wickets per match. All rounder Rayad Emrit claimed 11 wickets in 8 matches with best figure of 4 for 35. He will play key role with his all round performances.
