T20 Blast


Fantastic Friday is back on Natwest T20 Blast tournament as it hosts seven matches on a same day. In one of that match, Lancashire Lightning faces Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the North Group clash. Home team for this game, Lightning is at second in the Group points table and their opponents Outlaws at no. 7 with 6 points. The match between Lancashire Lightning vs Nottinghamshire Outlaws scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Local | 11 PM IST on Friday, 28th July 2017.



After seven matches, Lightning has 8 points with 3 wins, 1 tied match and 1 no result. Steven Croft led-side played with an unchanged XI in last few matches. But at least one change is assured for this clash against Outlaws as Jordan Clark not named in the 14-men squad. Lancashire openers Karl Brown and Liam Livingstone continues their good show in the top of the order and provides solid start to the innings. Both are playing at good strike rate and in the last game against Derbyshire, both openers scored 40+ runs at brisk strike rate. They are key players of Lightning and at least one of them would give you enough points on Friday. Aaron Lilley dismissed for golden duck against Derbyshire in the first clash, but came back well against the same team and scored 38 off 23 balls. He may go for another quick innings in this game. England’s wicket keeper Jos Buttler bats at no. 4 and he shows impressive performances match after match. He dismissed for 1 run in the last game, but could come with amazing performances at any time.

Captain of the side, Steven Croft has plenty of experiences in the format. But he struggles this season where he scored only 53 runs in 6 innings and also picked only a wicket for his credit. He needs to find a form quickly and that might happen in this game on Friday. Dane Vilas would play key role in the end overs along with his countryman Ryan McLaren. Vilas did not score much of runs in last few innings but he is expected to score crucial runs in this match. All rounder McLaren done well with both bat and bowl in first few matches. But in last few games, he gone expensive with bowl and continued to bat well. Keep an eyes on him, McLaren will gives lots of fantasy points. Junaid Khan conceded 53 runs in the last match, other than that he bowled so well in the tournament. He deserves a place in every fantasy teams. The young bowler Matthew Parkinson accompanying Junaid well with wicket taking spells. He claimed 5 wickets in 3 innings and he is expected to continue his good work on Friday. The experienced left-arm spinner Stephen Parry claimed only 4 wickets in 6 innings, but bowls useful and economical spells often. Bowlers Kyle Jarvis and Tom Bailey are named in the squad, either one of them would get into playing XI. Jarvis might overtake Bailey and get a game on Friday.



The title winners of Royal London One-day Cup this year, Nottinghamshire Outlaws started the T20 season with back-to-back defeats. Then registered three consecutive wins, but lost their last match to Worcestershire by 13 runs on Wednesday night. Now they are looking forward to back in winning ways by defeating Lighting on Friday. Australia’s Daniel Christian leads the side in this season and his team has plenty of experienced players in it. Outlaws has the strong opening pair Riki Wessels and Alex Hales and both of them bats brilliantly in almost each innings. Alex Hales scored at 200 or more strike rate in last few matches. He is in form of his career and he would give you lot of fantasy points with this game. His partner Riki Wessels also done his part well but he struggles to score runs quickly and bats at almost run a ball.

Former Zimbabwe skipper Brendon Taylor promoted to no. 3 in the order and he bats well at that position. He may keep the spot in this game and expects more runs from him. Outlaws middle-order fills with all rounders like Samit Patel, Daniel Christian and Steven Mullaney. All three of them are well experienced and performs with bat and bowl at any time. Patel picked four wickets in last 2 matches while Mullaney bowled at 5 runs per over in last 2 innings. Captain Christian did not bowl in last few matches, but he could surprises with his bowling skills at any time. All three of them are power-hitters and expects some big hitting in this game. Tom Moores keeps wickets behind the stumps and he bats well whenever chances come in his way. He scored 26 runs off 9 balls against Derbyshire in the last game. Pacers Jake Ball, Luke Wood and Harry Gurney are the regular bowlers of Outlaws and they also has New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi to offer leg-break. Gurney bowled expensive spells in last three matches, especially against Derbyshire he gave away 57 runs in 4 overs. He claimed wickets in other matches and that would help him to continue in the XI. Jake Ball will be a key bowler who picked 3 wickets in the last game. Sodhi used to bowl economical spells with wickets, but against Derbyshire he gave away 41 runs and picked 2 wickets. Expecting impressive spell from Sodhi in this game. Luke Wood bowled at 14 runs per over in the last game, but he is expected to keep his place safe for one more game.
