IPL 2017: TOP 10 BATSMEN WHO FEATURED IN ORANGE CAP LIST

Orange Cap was introduced in 2008 IPL to reward the highest run scorer of a season. During the time of IPL, many batsmen sport the hat as they grab the pole position on many occasions, but a batsman who ultimately finished at the top of the points table will win the prestigious Orange Cap.

The 2017 Orange Cap list is currently leading by Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner with 489 runs in 10 games at an average of 61.12 and with a hundred. The southpaw has been chasing by Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir and Gujarat Lions skipper Suresh Raina.

Gambhir has scored 411 runs in 11 matches at an average of 51.37 while Raina scored 395 runs in as many matches at an average of 49.37.

The fourth-placed is grabbed by in-form batsman Robin Uthappa of Kolkata Knight Riders. The right-handed batsman scored 384 runs in nine innings at an average of 42.66.

The fifth and sixth positions are occupied by out of Indian batsman the Young talented Sanju Samson from Delhi Daredevils and Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad. The gutsy performances from Samson on Thursday night, brought him inside the top 5. He scored 374 runs in 10 innings at an average of 37.40, while Dhawan is proving his worth as he already scored 369 runs in 10 matches at an average of 36.90,

Meanwhile, the seventh position is occupied by rookie youngster of Rising Pune Supergiant, Rahul Tripathi. His consistency is one of the reason for his team to be back in the competition and he scored 352 runs in 9 innings with the best score of 93.

Eighth and ninth positions are occupied by two talented quality batsmen Manish Pandey of KKR and Steve Smith of RPS. Pandey scored 341 runs in 11 matches at an average of 56.83 while Smith has scored 333 runs in 10 matches at an average of 41.62.

Gujarat Lions batsman Brendon McCullum is currently at no. 10 in the most runs scorers list with 320 runs in 11 innings at an average of 29.09.

As the IPL 10 entered in the last phase of the tournament, all batsmen will have a chance to elevate themselves in the Orange Cap table.

Table Topper Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore don’t have any representative in the list so far.
