SRI LANKA VS BANGLADESH – 2ND T20I – FANTASY CRICKET PREVIEW!

An interesting tour between two Asian teams comes to an end on Thursday with the second T20I match. Emerging Bangladesh shown their fighting spirit in both test and ODI series and share both the series with home team, Sri Lanka. As Sri Lanka won the first match of this two match T20I series, expectations are high on Bangladeshis whether they come back with big win and share another series with Sri Lanka on this tour or give up to the home team. The second T20I between Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh is scheduled to start at 7 PM Local | 7 PM IST on Thursday, 6th April 2017.

 

SRI LANKA :

The brilliant batting by Kusal Perera secured a win for Sri Lanka on Tuesday night. After shared both Test and ODI series, Sri Lanka are keen to win the second and last T20I and seal the series. On Tuesday, Sri Lankan spinners controlled Bangladeshis well and later on Kusal Perera’s innings gave them a lead in the series. All rounders Asela Gunaratne and Seekkuge Prasanna done well with their respective spells. Gunaratne bowled 4 overs and picked a wicket for 24 runs. Off-spinner Prasanna also picked a wicket for 19 runs in his 4 overs spell. Young bowler Vikum Sanjaya also bowled well and picked a wicket for 24 runs in 4 overs, he also bowled an maiden over. Most experienced Lasith Malinga picked 2 wickets in his 4 overs spell, but he bowled over 9 runs per over in his spell. Nuwan Kulasekara, an another experienced bowler in the side gone too expensive and remained wicket-less. He might make a way for other bowlers in the side on Thursday.

 

All rounder Thisara Perera, who performed so well in recent ODI match, did not get chance to bowl on Tuesday night. But, as he plenty of experiences with bowl, chances are high for him to shine on Thursday. While look out the chase, Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Kusal Perera started the innings in well note and scored runs for their team. They posted 65 runs inside 7 overs for the first wicket. Once Upul Tharanga departed, Munaweera also walked back to the pavilion for 8 runs. As wickets fallen on one side, Kusal Perera stole the show at other end. He batted very well and scored 77 runs in 53 balls. He smashed 9 fours and a six in his match winning innings. All rounder Asela Gunaratne managed to score 17 runs off 18 balls. The other all rounder Seekkuge Prasanna was promoted up in the order ahead of Thisara Perera and scored quick-fire 22 runs off 12 balls. He remained not out along with Thisara Perera who scored 4 runs. Sri Lanka chased down the target successfully in the 19th over and won the match by 6 wickets. Kapugedera and Siriwardena were part of the playing XI in the last game, but both of them did not get chance to showcase their talents. Both of them are expected to keep their place safe in the XI. Kusal Perera may surprises all with another big innings on Thursday. Captain Upul Tharanga, all rounders Asela Gunaratne and Thisara Perera has a bright chances to shine on match day with their batting. Also, Malinga would play key role ahead of his IPL season.

 

BANGLADESH :

Bangladesh lost the 1st test, then they came back so strong and defeated Sri Lanka in the 2nd game. Almost same were happened in ODIs. In ODI series, Bangladesh took a lead when they defeated Sri Lanka in the first ODI. As second match was abandoned, Bangladesh had a good chance to win the final ODI and seal the series. But unfortunately, Sri Lankan came with big win on last Sunday and leveled the series 1-1. If they register a win on Thursday, Bangladesh will go back home without losing any series on the tour. For that they need their top players to perform well on match day. Promising batsman of the team, Tamim Iqbal gone for without scoring on Tuesday. He needs to step up with good knock along with his opening partner Soumya Sarkar, who started well on other day and scored 29 off 20 balls. Both the openers are an handy performers for Bangladesh and the team requires both of them to perform one more time on final day of the tour.

Sabbir Rahman and Mushfiqur Rahim managed to score 16 and 8 respectively in the first T20I. Both the players proved their worth in the team in so many occasions and expects them to do the same on Thursday. Star all rounder, Shakib Al Hasan had an average game on Tuesday. He managed to score only 11 runs and bowled at almost 10 runs per over in his 3 overs spells. He was in very good form on the tour and expects him to finish on high note ahead of IPL season. All rounder Mahmudullah who struggles for form in recent times batted well at no. 7, he scored 31 crucial runs for his team. Mosaddek Hossain also done his part well in the middle-order who scored 34 runs at important time. Mahmudullah bowled 2 overs in his spell and he bowled at 3 runs per over. He is very good all rounder for Bangladesh and especially in the shorter format. Captain of the team Mashrafe Mortaza is all set to play his last and final T20I match on his career as he announced his retirement from the format on Tuesday. The well experienced bowler has announced his retirements to make a way for the young talents. He is expected to steel the show on his farewell match. Big impact bowler Mustafizur Rahman remained wicket less on other night. As he is awaiting for his IPL season, he might come with very good spell on Thursday and he may turns as a match winner for his team.
