The match between Rising Pune Supergiants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore is scheduled to start at 4 PM IST | 10:30 AM GMT on Saturday, 29th April, 2017.

RISING PUNE SUPERGIANTS :

Three match winning streak of Rising Pune Supergiants came to an end in the last game when they lost it to KKR at this same venue. RPS has total of 8 points with 4 wins in 8 matches that they played so far. Their net run rate is not on their favor -0.666. As only 6 matches are left to play in the league stages, RPS needs to win minimum of 4 matches with big margins to steady up their NRR and advances to Playoffs. Captain Steve Smith got his form back in the last game and he scored unbeaten half-century after long time in the season. Openers Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi are sets a good flatform for their team with their sensible partnership at top of the order. Both Rahane and Tripathi played impressive knocks in last few innings. New found of the season for RPS, Rahul Tripathi plays stunning knocks for his team. He played 6 innings for RPS and except the debut innings, he scored 30+ runs rest of all 5 innings so far. His best score was 59 vs Sunrisers and that came on last weekend. Scoring 216 runs in first 6 matches of the debut IPL season is not a small thing and he has plenty of responsibilities on his shoulder now.

Ajinkya Rahane who struggled to score runs in few innings, found his form back and scored 38 and 46 runs respectively in the last 2 matches. The inform partnership between Rahane and Tripathi are very crucial for RPS when they faces RCB on Saturday evening. Steven Smith found his form back in right time and but it ended in the losing cause against KKR. Hopefully, he will score much more runs and lead the team to victory against RCB. Most experienced wicket keeper batsman MS Dhoni took the team to victory against SRH in the last evening match that played in this venue. He also started well against KKR on other day, where he smashed 2 sixes and a four to score 23 runs in just 11 balls. He could turn the table for his team once the things are going on in his way. England all rounder Ben Stokes was rested in the last game after that match winning performances against MI. He is expected to be back in the XI on Saturday. Manoj Tiwary has a new role of finish the innings by scoring runs quickly for RPS and he done that so well in many innings this season. He played aggressive innings in five different occasions for RPS and he is expected to play similar innings on Saturday.

RPS brought in Faf du Plessis in the last game in place of Ben Stokes, but he did not came to bat even at no. 7 for RPS. If Ben Stokes is back in the XI, Faf would go back to dugout once again. Daniel Christian played an another match for RPS and he done a good job for them with both bat and bowl. He scored 16 off 6 balls and picked 1 for 31 with bowl. Washington Sundar, the young all rounder bowled so well for the team in his first 2 matches, but against KKR he gone expensive and gave 32 runs in just 3 overs. He would get one more chance to showcase his talents for RPS. Imran Tahir who bowled brilliantly for RPS in early matches, did not performed upto his standards in last few innings. To the extreme he gave away 48 runs in 4 overs against KKR and remained wicket-less. He could be back with bang in the next game, but some sort of chances to rest him too. The combination of Shardul Thakur and Jaydev Unadkat goes well for RPS, but the weaknesses are both the bowler used to bowl expensive spells often.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE :

Things were not on the favor of Royal Challengers Bangalore once again on Thursday night. They faced 6th defeat in the tournament and it came against Gujarat Lions. As of now, RCB has played 9 matches – won 2, loss 6 and 1 match was abandoned due to rain. On Thursday night, RCB had one more bad day with the bat and bowled out for 134 runs. The last 2 innings of RCB spoiled their momentum in the tournament as they bowled out for 49 runs and 134 runs respectively. As five more matches to play in the season, Virat Kohli and his men need to win all five matches with huge margin to expect some chances to qualify for playoffs. Captain of the team Virat Kohli was in good form, but he scored only 10 runs in last 2 innings for RCB. His partner Chris Gayle also struggles to score runs for the team. He scored 15 runs in those 2 innings and his scoring rate were just over 50 in those innings. RCB desperately needs it’s star openers to give solid start in the game against RPS to avoid early exit from the tournament.

Another important star in the team AB de Villiers also in bad form and that continued against Lions on Thursday night. He managed to score only 5 runs off 11 balls, before ran out in the disappointing passion. He needs to bring back his experience and sensible batting to ensure a victory for his team. Travis Head was added to the XI in place of injured Tymal Mills and he gone for golden duck straightaway in that match against Lions. He might lose his place once again and chances for experienced Shane Watson to be back in the XI. As wickets were tumbling at one end, Kedhar Jadhav played his natural game and scored 31 runs off 18 balls against Lions. He used to play some important knocks for RCB in the season, but he is also not consistent and that’s causes the team too. RCB are hanging with out-of-form Mandeep Singh and he failed one more time on Thursday. He scored only 8 off 14 balls and he was the reason for ABD’s ran out. Hopefully, RCB makes some dare move in the clash against RPS and brings back Sachin Baby to the XI in place of Mandeep Singh. Stuart Binny who played 7 matches continuously for RCB, dropped against Lions and Aniket Choudhary came into the XI. Choudhary played a little cameo for the team in late overs, but he gone over 10 runs per over in his 2 overs.

Pawan Negi who is the permanent player of this RCB lineup this season, came with a good cameo on Thursday. He scored 32 runs in 19 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. He picked a wicket too, but gave away 24 runs in 2 overs. He would keep his place against RPS and hope for some better bowling performances with good cameo with bat too. RCB played with spinners Samuel Badree and Chahal on other day. Both spinners gone over 9 runs per over in their respective spells, but Badree picked 2 wickets for his credit. These two would be a key for RCB in spinners supports Pune pitch on Saturday. Sreenath Aravind who bowls good spell on one day, goes expensive on other day. On Thursday, he bowled some good spell but remained wicketless. He is expected to keep his place once again on Saturday.
