The two big star studded teams of IPL history, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are ready for the clash on Sunday Night. The home team Knight Riders are at no. 2 in the table and they set to hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore who are at no. 6 in the table right now. The crucial encounter between KKR vs RCB is scheduled to start at 8 PM IST | 2:30 PM GMT on Sunday, 23rd April 2017.

The upset on Friday night might shakes Knight Riders confident little bit. Four consecutive wins in the tournament comes to an end for KKR on Friday Night, when they faced surprise 4 wickets defeat to Gujarat Lions. The fortress of KKR, Eden Gardens gone in favor of Lions on other night. After that loss to Lions, the home team missed a chance to go to top of points table once again and now staying at 2nd position with 8 points. Their Net Run Rate (+0.709) are the plus point for them. On Sunday night, KKR face-off with RCB who are at 6th in the table. On the absence of Chris Lynn, KKR tries different options to open the innings along with skipper Gautam Gambhir. Robin Uthappa was the first choice opener until last season for KKR, but now he settled down with no. 3 in the batting order. Sunil Narine, the magical spinner was the man who came with his captain and opened the innings against Lions on Friday night. The fearless Narine played an outstanding innings for his team and sets the good flatform for them by scored 42 off just 17 balls. He smashed the ball for 9 boundaries and 1 six, remember that he scored all 42 runs with only fours and six. He did not ran a single run in that stunning innings. High chances for him to open the innings vs RCB too. But, on other side KKR might think about the power of RCB’s batting order and they may do other plans for that opening position.

Gautam Gambhir maintains his consistent in every IPL season and that continues this year too. He scored 2 half-centuries in those 6 innings and scored 33 in the last match against Lions. He is a big impact player for his team in this crucial game. Robin Uthappa scored his second half-century in the season on Friday. He managed to post 72 runs on his name in 48 balls against Lions. As playing at Eden Gardens on Sunday, Uthappa has chances to play another brisk innings for his team. Manish Pandey is in top 5 leading run-getters list this season, he scored runs consistently in every matches. He stood tall when he finished the game for his team against DD and scored unbeaten 69 runs in that game. He could be a game changer for KKR against RCB. Yusuf Pathan was back to limelight after that 59 vs DD earlier this week. He played a little cameo against Lions and scored 11 off 4 balls. The hard-hitting batting all rounder might play an huge role for his team on Sunday.

The all rounder Shakib Al Hasan was finally back in the XI of KKR for the first time this season. He did not has much to do with bat in that game and bowled at over 10 RPO in his 3 overs spell. But, he could keep his place in the XI and the experienced all rounder could perform better in this game. KKR gone with Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Chris Woakes and Coulter-Nile as specialist bowlers in last two matches. Umesh Yadav bowled some good spell for his team. Kuldeep picked 2 wickets but bowled almost around 10 RPO. Coulter-Nile also picked 2 wickets and he bowled at over 10 per over. Woakes also bowled at 10 runs per over. That was one loss, KKR won’t do much of changes in their bowling unit. If they do, Piyush Chawla might comes in for Kuldeep.

After faced 4 losses in 5 matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore came back to their full potential in the game against Gujarat Lions. In that game, the power-hitting Chris Gayle was back into form with 77 runs off just 38 balls. He smashed 5 fours and 7 huge sixes in that innings. He is back into form and also crossed 10000 T20 runs, the first man to achieve this feat. Captain Virat Kohli played an another good innings and scored 64 off 50 with 7 fours and a six. These two star players are a back bone of RCB’s batting order. They needs to deliver once again on Sunday to climb above in the points table. Currently, they are at 7 in the table.

Travis Head who replaced injured Samuel Badree in the last game played an handy knock along with Kedar Jadhav. Head scored 30 off 16 balls with 2 fours and a six. On other side, Kedar Jadhav played a good knock and scored 38 off just 16 balls. He smashed 5 fours and 2 sixes in that quick innings. As those top 4 batsmen finished the innings for the team, there were no need of Mandeep Singh or Shane Watson to bat in that innings. Both Mandeep and Watson were in poor form in recent matches, but they would keep their place in XI on Sunday night. With bowl, Shane Watson once again gone expensive and bowled at 12 per over in his 2 overs. Stuart Binny has played some handy cameo in early matches, he could do the same on Sunday too. AB de Villiers who did not against Gujarat Lions could be in the XI on Sunday. That means Watson might make a way for him in this game.

Pawan Negi, bowling all rounder bowled so well in that game against Lions. He leaked only 21 runs in 4 overs and picked 1 wickets. His spin partner Yuzvendra Chahal also bowled well for RCB and picked 3 for 31 in 4 overs. Those two spinners controlled the chase of Lions in that game. Sreenath Aravind and Adam Milne, both pacers gone very expensive and both of their places are insured for KKR clash. Billy Stanlake could be a right option to replace Milne. Samuel Badree also has chances to be back in XI, if he fit to play.
