The match 21 of this season, Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Daredevils is scheduled to start at 8 PM IST | 2:30 PM GMT on Wednesday, 18th April 2017.

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD :

Captain Warner’s unbeaten innings, Afghan duo Rashid and Nabi’s contribution and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s Fifer brought a win for Sunrisers on Monday night and Hyderabad, the fort of SRH continues. SRH has faced to back-to-back defeat after winning first two matches successfully in the tournament. As they defeated KXIP, now they moved on to third position in the points table. Captain David Warner has made 3 changes vs KXIP, Barinder Sran was back into the XI for the first time in this season along with IPL debutants Mohammad Nabi and Siddharth Kaul. Ben Cutting, Ashish Nehra and Bipul Sharma were the players who missed out. Once again Warner and Dhawan opened the innings and third time in a row, both openers started to score runs slowly in the powerplay. Shikhar Dhawan dismissed for 15 runs in the 5th over of the innings. Moises Henriques who miss read the ball of Axar Patel straight after the first time-out, walked back for just 9 runs.

Star all rounder in the side, Yuvraj Singh dismissed for first ball Duck in the unfortunate passion. As three wickets gone on one end inside 10 overs, David Warner kept his calm and continued his innings well on the other end. He got a company in the name of Naman Ojha who struggled with bat since last season. Ojha certainly found his form back and scored runs against KXIP. He managed to score quick 34 runs off 20 balls with 2 fours and a six. He and Warner added 60 runs to the 4th wicket stand. Once Ojha departs, Hooda came in and supported his captain in the end overs. David Warner who generally plays aggressive shots, played a different ball game on Monday and scored runs equal to the balls until 15 overs. Then he started his fireworks and remained unbeaten for 70 runs off 54 balls. Mohammad Nabi who played his debut game in IPL, dismissed for only 2 runs. But, his countryman Rashid Khan finished the innings in a style with a six and that was the only ball he faced in that game.

While defending the target of 160, leading pace bowler of SRH lineup Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly and removed Hashim Amla on the very first ball. The Purple Cap holder finished the innings with fifer for 19 runs in his 4 overs spell. He is the pillar of SRH bowling for the past couple of years and he continues the same in this season too. He could be a dangerous bowler when they face Daredevils at the same venue on Wednesday. Barinder Sran was the regular member of SRH team last season, missed out first four matches due to injury. He was back in the eleven vs KXIP, but gone very expensive on his return. He might get an another chance against DD and hopefully he will come with wickets this time. Mohammad Nabi played his debut IPL match and shown decent perform with bowl. He picked one for 28 in his 4 overs spell. Expecting an another chance for Nabi on Wednesday. Rashid Khan’s first two overs were so good for SRH, he came with 2 wickets in same over. It was very tough for the batsmen to judge his bowling, Manan Vohra was the only player who looked comfortable to face Rashid in that game. Rashid gone expensive due to power hitting of Vohra, he gave away 42 runs in his 4 overs. Siddharth Kaul made an impression on his first IPL game for SRH by bowling a good spell against KXIP. He bowled at over 7 runs per over, but managed bowled a successful over on the 20th and picked a wicket. He has chances to be in playing XI on Wednesday.

DELHI DAREDEVILS :

Fearless young batsmen, Strong overseas all rounders and the experiences of veteran captain Zaheer Khan are going good for Delhi Daredevils in this season. After losing the first game to RCB, DD fought back with 2 huge wins. The win margins were 97 runs and 51 runs respectively. But, Daredevils lost a game at home on Monday when they faced mighty KKR. As DD won 2 and lost 2 in their first four matches so far, they are at no. 4 in the points table right now with 4 points in 4 matches. Their NRR are the best among all teams at this situation. In that game against KKR, momentum were on DD’s corner but some tactical mistakes made by them costs the match in the end. After that stunning century against RPS, Sanju Samson was promoted from no. 3 to opening slot. He used to give good start for the team along with his partner Sam Billings. Samson played his shots with good timing and scores runs quickly in the powerplay. But the problem is, he used to take more dot balls in the middle overs and that affect his strike rate from boom start. Sam Billings also playing a good hand for DD, he scored impressive 25 runs against RCB and then scored half century against KXIP. Also, started well against KKR on Monday but could not capitalized the good start that he got in that game. Both openers are in a position to give another good start for the team in this match, especially when they face SRH at their home.

The weakness of DD batting order is Karun Nair. He is yet to score more than 30 runs in an innings across format after scored a triple century in a test match back in December, 2016. It seems DD thinktank will move on from Karun and give a chance to some other youngsters in the unit. As both top-order and middle-order looks good for DD, chances are for all rounder Jayant Yadav to joins the XI on Wednesday. Young and talented Shreyas Iyer was back from chickenpox and played last 2 matches. He used to start well in both of those matches, but not converted into big score yet. Hope for some good performances from him at Hyderabad on Wednesday night. The destructive youngster Rishabh Pant and his brilliant form strengthen DD’s batting in the middle-order. He started the season with superb half-century and managed to contribute for the team in each matches. He smashed 26 runs in an over against KKR which included 3 sixes and 2 fours. He might be promoted to no. 3 position, if Karun Nair is dropped. Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews played his first game of the season on Monday and replaced Corey Anderson who was not fit. There was not much of contribution from Mathews, he scored only 1 run and bowled 2 overs spell. If Corey Anderson is fit, he could make his return to the XI. Stunning all rounder and star of DD side, Chris Morris is in amazing form. He smashed 38 off just 9 balls against RPS and then contributed some good runs for the team in last 2 matches too. He picked 3 wicket haul against KXIP, but gone bit expensive against KKR and managed to pick only one wicket in that game. He could possibly be a different maker between the two teams on the match day.

Captain Zaheer Khan brought his all experiences in the game against RPS where he picked 3 wickets. Then he gone wicket less and expensive against KXIP. Again, he came back with brilliant opening spell against KKR on Monday. He removed both openers of KKR in powerplay. As Hyderabad pitch supports seamers, Zaheer might play an another good role in that game. Pat Cummins used to play little cameo in the end of an innings with bat and also picks wicket for the team. But, he used to bowl expensive spells. Once he bowls economical spells, he could win a matches for DD. Mohammad Shami has make his come back on Monday after misses out for several months with an injuries. He gone expensive straightaway against KKR where he bowled 3 overs and gave away 28 runs in that wicket-less spell. Shahbaz Nadeem has a good chance to replace Shami and gets a game. Amit Mishra could be an useful bowler for DD at Hyderabad. He has experiences at this venue for long time when he played for Deccan Chargers in the past. Some interesting changes could be possible from DD camp for this match.
