RCB who has won only one match in three encounters till now, faces MI in their second home match. As both the teams looks for win and to be progress on the points table, this match going to offer lot more entertainment to the fans. The 12th match between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians is scheduled to start at 4 PM IST | 10:30 AM GMT on Friday, April 14 2017.

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE :

The big news has came for RCB fans on Thursday morning, the captain of the team Virat Kohli has fully recovered from the shoulder injury and fit to play against Mumbai Indians on Friday. With the arrival of Kohli, RCB now looks on its full strength and gear to play in front of capacity Bangalore crowd. As Kohli is back, either Vishnu Vinod or Mandeep Singh would be sit out for this match. Chances are high for Vishnu Vinod to misses out, in that case in-form Kedar Jadhav will do wicket-keeper’s duty for the team. As match is at Bangalore, fan favorite Chris Gayle is expected to be back in the XI and open the innings along with Virat Kohli. He was dropped in the last game against KXIP and RCB faced big loss in that game. The combination of Kohli and Gayle at top gives positive boost to the team.

Stand-in captain for the last 3 matches, Shane Watson was in average form with both bat and bowl. He managed to score 47 runs in 3 innings and also picked only 1 wicket in three matches. He bowled expensive and wicket less spells in away matches against SRH and KXIP. As Gayle is expected to be back in the XI, chances for Watson to miss the game. If he is in the XI then he would move down to middle order. Mr. 360 AB de Villiers was back to the XI in the last game against KXIP and played an amazing innings straightaway. As both Kohli and de Villiers came back to the team, RCB top-order certainly looks strong and heavy. Mandeep Singh has played good supportive knock in the middle order and he is expected to continue his good work on Friday. Kedar Jadhav, the only in-form batsman of RCB in the first two matches, fell early for just 1 run against KXIP. But, still he remains as strength of RCB’s middle-order and could possible play another good knock against MI. Stuart Binny who played good supportive roles in last two matches by providing good partnerships in second half of innings, might keep his place safe in the XI.

As spinners could play crucial role in Bengaluru, all three spinners Yuzvendra Chahal, Pawan Negi and Iqbal Adbulla are expected to play on Friday. Chahal is their lead and wicket taking spin bowler, Iqbal Abdulla was expensive, but brought back the side into the match at this same venue last week. Pawan Negi just bowled one over spell in last two matches, but made an impression with 2 wickets against Daredevils. Both overseas pacers Tymal Mills and Billy Stanlake bowled well against Daredevils. Stanlake picked 2 for 29 in that game and then gone for over 10 runs per over against KXIP and remained wicket less. On other side, Tymal Mills picked 1 for 33 in his 4 overs against DD and also picked 1 for 22 in 2 overs against KXIP. If Chris Gayle is back in the XI and Watson keeps his place, Billy Stanlake might be a player who would make a way for Gayle. Then, either Sreenath Aravind or Harshal Patel would get a chance in the XI too.

MUMBAI INDIANS :

Rohit Sharma and his team registered their second victory of the season on Wednesday night, when they defeated defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 wickets. With that second straight win at Wankhade, MI are moved to third in the table right now with 4 points. The comfortable win against SRH brought their NRR into positive and they have +0.199 at the moment. Captain Rohit Sharma’s form is the biggest worry for MI right now. He managed to score only 3, 2 and 4 respectively in those 3 innings. MI started the season with loss against neighbor RPS, then started their home season in very good note with back to back wins. Now, they are set to play their second away match of the season. The left handed young batsman Nitish Rana is in fantastic form and he offered good knocks in all 3 matches. He started the season with 34 runs against RPS, then he scored 50 off 29 against KKR which brought him a Man of the Match award. On Wednesday night also he played a crucial knock for his team and scored 45 runs. He is expected to play an another good knock at high scoring ground in Bengaluru.

Jos Buttler and Parthiv Patel are offering good opening partnerships for MI so far, Buttler who scored 38 off 19 in the first game – managed to score 28 and 14 in last two matches. Parthiv Patel also playing a good knocks at top of the order for MI. He was in good form through out domestic season and looks to continues his good form for MI. He scored 19, 30 and 39 respectively. As mentioned Rohit Sharma’s form is biggest concern, hope for better knock from him on Friday. The middle-order of MI sets up nicely with Pandya brothers and Kieron Pollard. All three all rounder’s are in good form and doing good job whenever the team needs from them. Krunal Pandya had poor game in the first outing, then he came back well with 3 wicket haul against KKR. On Wednesday night he shined with bat and scored 37 off just 20 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Pollard scored 27 off 17 and 17 off 17 in first two matches. Those runs were crucial for MI at those moments. He scored only 11 runs on Wednesday. Hardik Pandya’s firing 35 off 15 balls came against RPS, then he secured a win for his team with a knock of 29 off just 11 balls against KKR. He bowled well and picked 1 for 22 in 3 overs against SRH in third match. MI are looks strong with that middle-order which filled with power hitting all rounders.

Harbhajan Singh brought in all his experience against SRH on Wednesday and picked 2 for 23 in his 4 overs spell. Jasprit Bumrah, the pace bowler who had average outings in first 2 encounters, bowled a superb spell against SRH and picked 3/24 in 4 overs. The lead pacer of MI, Lasith Malinga made an impact already his spells of 2/36 vs KKR and 1/30 vs SRH. He would big a different maker of MI in the clash against RCB on Friday. Mitchell McClanaghan got an another chance on Wednesday and once again he gone very expensive. He bowled at 10.50 RPO in his 4 overs spell. If MI decides to shuffle the winnings combination, then McClenaghan would be a man who makes a way for another left arm pacer Mitchell Johnson. At the same time chances are there for Sri Lankan all rounder Asela Gunaratne to play his debut game on Friday. As spin helps in Bangalore, Gunaratne’s part time spin would be effective for MI. Also he is in good form with the bat in the format. MI management would consider all those things before faces RCB on Friday evening.
