The number one Twenty-20 Premier League cricket in World of Cricket, Indian Premier League is set to host 10th season during April-May in 2017. As IPL Player Auction takes place every year ahead of the season, this year auction is set to take place on 20th February in Bangalore. The tournament is scheduled to begin on April 5.

BCCI said in a release that 750 plus players have registered for the Player Auction 2017 and the registration deadline was over on 3rd February, 2017. So many overseas players entered their names in for Player Auction along with plenty of Indian talents.

Each IPL franchise can have up to 27 players in its squad, with a maximum of nine overseas players. The purse for each team has been capped at INR 66 crore (approximately $10 million).

This will be the last IPL season before teams overhaul their player rosters for 2018 and beyond. All existing player contracts will expire after IPL 2017 and most players – apart from those the franchises are allowed to retain – will have to go into the auction ahead of the 2018 season.

The Auction was originally proposed for February 4, but it was delayed as the BCCI grappled with the fallout of the Supreme Court removing its president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke on January 2.

Lot of big names of the current Cricket World are awaiting to play in IPL – Season 10. Some of those overseas names are Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan, Chris Woakes, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Boult, Angelo Mathews and Jason Roy. Plenty of Indian players also awaiting for their chances to play in IPL season.
