Haryana State Cricket Association introduced Haryana Premier League T20 tournament and it started on last Saturday at Chandigarh. The tournament which contains six teams, already hosted 5 matches until Monday. On Tuesday, HPL hosts 2 more matches and in the first encounter Panchkula Kings playing their 3rd match in the tournament and they set to meet Gurugram Gladiators. The match between Panchkula Kings vs Gurugram Gladiators is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM IST on Tuesday, 7th February 2017.
Panchkula Kings done a huge changes in their playing XI on Monday after losing the first match on Saturday. Panchkula Kings was a part of opening match of the season and they faced Sirsa Warriors in that game. Rahul Rana was the only player who performed well for Kings in that match. He scored 70 runs in 59 balls, but as rest of the batting order collapsed drastically, Kings managed to post only 130 runs for the loss of 7 wickets vs Warriors. While defending the low score, Kings bowlers failed to take wickets in regular intervals and in the end, Kings lost a match by 6 wickets. After that defeat Panchkula Kings done 10 changes in the next match on Monday. Rahul Rana was the only player who kept his place safe in the XI. Kings bowlers bowled well in that game and restricted the opposition to 143 all out in 20 overs. Pardeep Tanwar was the most wicket-taker for Kings. He picked 4 for 15 in 3 overs. Skipper Saurav Shrivastava also bowled well and picked 2 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs spell. Top-order was collapsed drastically in that match vs Hisar Bulls. Rahul Rana who scored 70 runs in first game, lost his wicket for without scoring. Rahul Khattar who got chance in the XI also failed and gone for golden duck. At one stage of the innings, Kings were like 5 for 38 in under 6 overs. But, the all rounders Pardeep Tanwar and Gaurav Singh rescued their team from the bad start and led the side to victory. The 93-runs partnership between Tanwar and Gaurav confirmed a first win in the tournament. Gaurav remained not out with 67 runs off just 31 balls and Tanwar scored half-century. After this win, few changes are expected in Kings side on Wednesday, especially at top of the order.
Gurugram Gladiators is set to play back-to-back matches on Monday evening and on Tuesday afternoon. In the first match, Gladiators met Rohtek Blasters on Sunday. In that rain affected encounter, Gladiators defeated Rohtek Warriors by 28 runs on Duckworth-Lewis Method. Bowlers of Gladiators restricted Rohtek Blasters 131 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Bowler Aman Bharti bowled a good spell and picked 2 wickets for 24 runs. All Rounder Ankush Dhariwal also bowled well and picked 1 for 21 in 3 overs. Ramandeep Singh was the most economical bowler of the innings, who picked a wicket for 10 runs in 3 overs. While chasing an easy target, Gladiators were attacking from the first over of the innings as they were well aware of rain interruptions. At the end Gladiators won by 28 runs. As 30 plus players are in each teams in this tournament, it’s very tough to predict the playing XI. Gladiators won a game on Sunday, but still they made 3 changes in the game vs Sirsa Warriors on Monday. Therefore, changes are expected on Tuesday too.
