Scotland and Hong Kong were played a first ODI on Sunday. Now, the host U.A.E. faces Scotland in an ODI at Dubai on Tuesday. This match is scheduled to start at 10 AM Local | 11:30 AM IST.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES :
The host United Arab Emirates is playing ODI match after an unsuccessful outing in Desert T20 Tournament. U.A.E. finished at no. 3 in Group A with a lone win against Namibia. As a host nation U.A.E. must played well in the tournament and qualified for finals. But, they were failed in it. Now, it is an opportunity for U.A.E. to re-gain a proud by playing well in the 50-over format. U.A.E squad are not announced yet for this series. But as Scotland and Hong Kong played with the same squads which played in Desert T20, we hope that U.A.E also go with same squad.
Amjad Javed, the captain of the team is expected to play well with both bat and bowl on Tuesday to bring back his team to winning ways. Experienced and consistent batsmen in the side Shaiman Anwar has lot of responsibility in his shoulder as the team returns to ODI format. He is a consistent performer for U.A.E and expected the same from him on Tuesday vs Scotland. All Rounder and an opening batsman Rohan Mustafa was in good touch during Desert T20 and he should carry on his form in this format too. Another opener Mohammad Shahzad was in bad form, this is an opportunity for him to re-gain his form and helps his team to win. Bowler Zahoor Khan was a best bowler for U.A.E in Desert T20 competition and expected him to continue his good performances on Tuesday. Leader of bowling attack Mohammad Naveed needs to perform well to ensure a win over in-form Scottish. Overall, an all round performances are needed to defeat Scotland who lost to Hong Kong on Sunday.
Scottish team was a topper of points table during a league round in Group B. They won all 3 matches during league stages and qualified to semi-final with 6 points. But, in the semi-final Ireland outplayed Scotland and defeated them by a huge margin of 98 runs. That was a huge set back for Scots, who were played well in the tournament. After that loss, Scotland faced a loss against Hong Kong on Sunday, but this time it was in ODI format. In that 1st ODI of this tri-nation series, Hong Kong bowled out Scotland for 205 runs in 49th over. Wicket Keeper and an opener Matthew Cross played a handy knock at top of the order. He scored 44 useful runs for his team.
Experienced opener Kyle Coetzer started well, but he lost his wicket for 27 runs. In-form Calum McLeod failed this time and gone for just 4 runs. All Rounder Josh Davey was sent at no. 4, but he gone for just 5. George Munsey and Con de Lange managed to score 20 odd runs each. Craig Wallace who batted at no. 7, scored an half-century and that helped Scotland to post a decent total. While bowling, almost every bowler came with a good spell, but no one brought a wickets for their team. Josh Davey bowled well, his figures are 9-2-33-1. Promising bowler in the side Safyaan Shariff remained wicket-less against Hong Kong on Saturday. Bradley Wheal and Chris Sole were bit expensive and they picked a wicket each. After that loss, Scotland looks to finish this tour with high note when they faces U.A.E on Tuesday. To taste a success over the home team, Scottish should better and do a good job in every aspects of a game.
