New Zealand summer gets lot busier in this Christmas and New Year week with International Matches and also with McDonald’s Super Smash T20 tournament. On Tuesday, 27th December – Knights takes on Auckland Aces in 21st match of the tournament at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui and it’s scheduled to start at 4:10 PM Local | 8:40 AM IST.

Knights who is at 5th in the points table at the moment with 10 points needs to win this game to keep the chances alive. Knights has won 2 matches and lost 3 in 6 matches they played. One match has been abandoned due to rain. Knights net run rate are not so great and they need to improve quickly on all aspect of the game. Knights posted big total in their last game on Friday against Central Stags and won that game by 10 runs. But, they misses three important players from that XI due to International fixtures. Mitchell Santner who was the top performer on Friday joined in Blackcaps squad to play ODIs against Bangladesh. Trent Boult and Tim Southee are other two who left for international duties. Australia’s Trent Lawford, Peter Bocock and Zak Gibson are in squad for Tuesday’s match.

Auckland Aces, who dominated in early part of the tournament with 4 consecutive win, now moved down to second place in table after losing back-to-back matches to Wellington Firebirds last week. Auckland also played 6 matches till now and sitting at 2nd spot with 16 points with 4 wins and 2 losses. Net run rate Aces are better than all other teams in the competition. Aces are in a position of re-group quickly and get themselves back to winning streak. Auckland Aces going with same squad who played on Saturday. Against Firebirds, opening pair of Aces Guprill-Bunce and Glenn Phillips were fall early. Captain Nicol, Chapman and Jeet Raval managed to get score near to the target on that day. Top order and middle order of Aces should comes well on Tuesday to get back in to winning ways. Also, bowlers should come with decent spells. Tymal Mills was the only bowler who bowled under 6 RPO on Saturday.
