BBL – MATCH 6 – HOBART HURRICANES VS MELBOURNE STARS – FANTASY PREVIEW

After register a thumping win against Sydney Sixers on Friday in season opener, Hobart Hurricanes is set to play their first home match of the season against Melbourne Stars on Boxing Day (Monday) in 6th match of Big Bash League – Season 6. Five matches were over already, but Melbourne Stars features in it’s season opener on Monday against Hurricanes. Sold out Boxing Day crowd are expected at Bellerive Oval in Hobart when these two favorite teams meets up. Match is scheduled to start at 7:10 PM Local | 1:40 PM IST.

 

Hobart Hurricanes :

The home team Hobart Hurricanes started their season in tremendous manner and won the game by 60 runs against Sydney Sixers in Sydney. Now, they are in their own yard and looking forward to play their first home match of the season. An All rounder D’Arcy Short who made his BBL debut against Sixers stole the show and played amazing innings on Friday. He smashed lots of big hits and scored half century on his debut. His knock of 61 off 29 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes took a game away from Sixers. He also bowled an over and picked a wicket of Botha. If he continues his good form on Monday, he will turnout as raising star of the franchise for sure.

Captain Tim Paine also played a sensible knock on other day and came with 63 runs in 45 balls. If experienced Sangakkara, Bailey and All rounder Christian come up with good supportive knocks once again, it would help the Hurricanes to score one more big total. Bowlers Tait, Rose, Kingston and Boyce everyone lived up to an expectations and performed well. England’s Stuart Broad was the only bowler who remained wicket-less and also expensive. But, he is well experienced and could come with better performance on Monday.

 

Melbourne Stars :

Last year runner up, Melbourne Stars are keen to play their season opener on Monday. Teams like Sydney Thunder and Sixers has played 2 matches each already, but Stars are going to play their first game at end of 1st week of the season. Veteran David Hussey lead the side once again and he has plenty of match winners in his team to dominate the season. England pair Kevin Petersen and Luke Wright are going to play overseas players role once again for the Stars. On the absence of Peter Handscomb who are with Team Australia, Sam Harper is set to play as a wicket-keeper. He scored half-century in practice match earlier this week.

Plenty of All rounders are in Stars Squad. Glenn Maxwell, James Faulkner, John Hastings, Marcus Stoinis and Evan Gulbis are in the team to do All Rounder’s role. Among them everyone are expected play on Monday except Gulbis. Former Australian International, Ben Hilfenhaus had very good time in Super Smash tournament and he picked fiver in recent match in the tournament. He joins with Michael Beer, Scott Boland, Daniel Worrall and Adam Zampa to fulfill the bowling unit. Hilfenhaus, Beer, Boland and Zampa are expected to play against Hurricanes.
