As Strikers lost both of their matches this season, Strikers fans expected same kind of magic from their players on last day of this year too. Brad Hodge, captain of the team was the lone fighter in both matches. Ben Dunk batted superbly in first match against Brisbane Heat, but he fell short in the second game. All rounder from Caribbean, Kieron Pollard needs to deliver the goods on Saturday to prove his worth in the competition. All eyes on the magic man of last year NYE Travis Head failed to score runs in both occasions. He needs to come with another magical innings to lift his team in points ladder. Adelaide Strikers fans favorite Jono Dean is in 13-men squad for this match. Strikers main pacer Kane Richardson is out due to injury and he needs to take 2-4 weeks rest. Therefore, Strikers management added Tom Andrews as a replacement player and he is in 13-member squad for this special match.

Except Johan Botha, all other Sixers bowlers were gone expensive and leaked too many runs. While chasing a huge target of 201, Sixers batters walked back to pavilion one by one. England duo Roy and Billings were two batsmen who scored 40 or more runs for Sixers in that game. In the third match, Sixers faced Perth Scorchers in second home game and registered second win of the season. Sixers missed both of their openers due to slight injuries against Scorchers. But, both of them declared fit for NYE clash against Strikers on Saturday. It’s an nice opportunity for Sixers to take revenge on Strikers on the same day of last year’s biggest upset. In last NYE match, Sixers had upper hand in almost 3/4 of the match. But, that magical innings of Head vanished Sixers day and it gave lot of bad memories to the Sixers unit.
