Pakistan dominated once again in this home season in UAE and registered 10th consecutive win in International matches. Pakistan won 2nd test match against West Indies by 133 runs. Interesting test match came to an end on a final day of the test and West Indies’s fight back made this match as thrilling one. Pakistan Leg-spinner and lead bowler Yasir Shah declared as a Man of the Match for his performance of 10 wickets in a match.
West Indies batsmen shown lot of characters in the second innings and fought hard to level the series. But post lunch session gone in Pakistan’s favor and West Indies ended with 133 runs short and lost another match in the series. Pakistan tasted the second win and lead three-match test series 2-0.

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won another toss and decided to bat first once again. Pakistan rested their main bowlers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz. Rahat Ali and Zulfiqar Babar got a chance in playing XI. West Indies made one change as Shai Hope replaced Shane Dowrich.
DAY – 1 :
Pakistan openers Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali started their innings and on other side Shannon Gabriel started the proceedings. The man who hits triple-hundred in Dubai last week, Azhar Ali got out without troubling the scorers this time in first innings of 2nd test and Gabriel was the bowler who picked first wicket of the match. Another opener Sami Aslam lost his wicket to Bishoo for 6 runs. Pakistan were in little bit of trouble by losing both openers in the first hour of day 1. Veteran Batsman Younis Khan who missed first test due to fever, returned back to No. 4 by replacing Babar Azam. He started to build a good partnership with Asad Shafiq. Pakistan posted 94 for 2 on the board when taking lunch on day 1. These two batsman continued their good work in the second session. Asad Shafiq reached his 2nd half-century of the series and soon he lost his wicket to Shannon Gabriel. He gone for 68 runs and Pakistan were 129 for 3 at that time.
Pakistan Captain, 42-year old Misbah-ul-Haq came to middle at no. 5 and these veterans were in a mood to took a game away from WI. Younis reached his fifty soon after Shafiq’s dismissal. The experienced duo managed to go tea on Day-1 without loss of any further wicket. Pakistan scored 205 for 3 while going for tea. After tea break, Misbah and Younis achieved a feat of 100 runs partnership for 4th wicket and in few minutes time Misbah scored his fifty. Few minutes later, Younis came with his 33rd Test Hundred. These two gave a lot of headache to WI bowlers and took a team total to past 300 runs. In the very last ball of the day, part-times Kraigg Brathwaite came up with a wicket of Younis Khan. He got out for well made 127 runs. Pakistan were 304 for 4 at stumps on Day – 1.
DAY – 2 :
On day 2 of this test match, Pakistan batsmen continued to score more runs. But, West Indies bowlers picked a wickets at regular intervals. First they picked Pakistan captain Misbah’s wicket. Misbah added 6 more runs to his over-night score and got out for 90 runs. Night-watchman Yasir Shah accompanied Sarfaraz by hanging in the middle. He got out for 23 runs and WI captain Holder was a wicket-taker. Pakistan 6 down for 342 runs. Pakistan reached 400 runs mark in the last over before Lunch on Day 2. Mohammad Nawaz supported Sarfaraz Ahmed well until lunch time. After lunch break Pakistan were in hurry to get some quick runs. They got some quick runs as well as WI bowlers picked remaining 4 wickets. Pakistan all-out for 452 runs with a contributions of Sarfaraz (56), Nawaz (25) and Sohail Khan (26 runs). West Indies fast bowler Gabriel took his maiden five wicket haul in test cricket. Captain Jason Holder picked 3 wickets for his team.
West Indies openers came to the middle when huge role are on their shoulders. Instead of Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo opened the innings with Leon Johnson. Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Rahat Ali gave a first breakthrough with a wicket of Johnson. He got out for 12 runs and WI lost first wicket for 27 runs. Brathwaite came at no. 3 and joined with Bravo. Darren Bravo played some good shots before he got out for 43 runs. WI’s 2nd wicket down for 65 runs. Experienced batsman Samuels joined with Brathwaite. West Indies reached 100 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Pakistan came with 2 quick wickets just before end of day’s play. First it was Marlon Samuels, he gone for 30 runs. In the next 3 deliveries, Pakistan got a wicket of Brathwaite. WI scores were 106 for 4 in 45 overs at stumps on day-2.
DAY – 3 :
West Indies resumed day-3 with Bishoo and Blackwood. Blackwood not had a long stay at crease, he lost his wicket to Rahat Ali. That was Ali’s 3rd wicket in the innings. After facing 66 balls to score 20 runs, night-watchman Bishoo lost his wicket Sohail Khan. West Indies were 6 down for 144. On day-3, West Indies batsmen approached the innings in a different way. They concentrated more on staying in the middle. That means they shown lot of patience, but Pakistani bowlers came up with wickets at regular intervals. Captain Holder was the only player who scored 30 odd runs on day-3 for West Indies. Finally West Indies completed their first innings when they got all-out for 224 runs. Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah picked 4 wickets. Fast bowlers Sohail Khan (2) and Rahat Ali (3) shown their contributions too. Pakistan did not en-force a follow on once again and came to bat for the 2nd time in the test.
Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam approached a second innings just similar to the first innings of Dubai test. The openers built a very good stand for 1st wicket and posted 91 runs. Sami Aslam was a batsman who dismissed just after reached his 4th test fifty. Gabriel picked his man while Pakistan were 91 for 1. Asad Shafiq was a new batsman and Azhar reached his half-century just before end of day’s play. Pakistan scored 114 for 1 in 39 overs.
DAY – 4 :
Azhar and Shafiq resumed the innings on day -4. Both were in mind of scoring quick runs before opting WI to bat the 2nd innings. While scoring runs quickly, Azhar Ali got dismissed for 79 runs. Miguel Cummins picked his first wicket of a match. Pakistan were 164 for 2 when Younis Khan arrived the middle. Asad Shafiq reached his 2nd fifty of the match and 3rd in the series, meanwhile Pakistan crossed 200-runs in 2nd innings. Pakistan skipper Misbah declared the innings for 227 runs and sets up a target of 456 to win.
West Indies started their innings with huge target in front of them. Johnson opened the innings along with Brathwaite. Once again Johnson was man who dismissed first. He lost his wicket for 9 runs. Yasir was a wicket-taker. Darren Bravo also got out soon and WI were 63 for 2. Samuels and Brathwaite fought hard to rescue the team. WI past 100 runs with a loss of 2 wickets. Yasir came with caught and bowled when he got his man Samuels. Blackwood arrived the crease and straightaway showed his fighting knock. On other side, Brathwaite reached his fifty and lost his wicket soon to Nawaz for 67 runs. Roston Chase and Blackwood assured no more wicket loss and finished with 171 for 4 wickets at stumps.
DAY – 5 :
As Pakistan required 6 more wickets to win and WI required 285 runs to win a game, the 5th and final thrilling day of this test match started today morning. Chase and Blackwood shown lot of fight in the middle and assured no wicket loss in the first hour. Blackwood reached his deserved fifty and continued his good innings. Chase dismissed for 20 runs off Yasir’s spin. Yasir picked another wicket and this time it was Blackwood who gone for 95 runs. Yasir Shah got his fifth wicket of the innings with Holder’s wicket. West Indies 7 down to 266 runs. Keeper Shai Hope and Bishoo hanged in middle for some overs and scored useful runs. But in the 2nd session on final day, Babar came with a double blow and he picked a wickets of both Bishoo and Hope. When Yasir picked his 6th wicket of an innings, Pakistan go with 2-0 lead in the series. West Indies all out for 322 runs and lost the test match by 133 runs. Yasir Shah announced as Man of the Match.
The third test match between these teams starts on October 30th, Sunday.
