Pakistan Vs West Indies in UAE – T20I Series – West Indies Team Preview

International Cricket are returning back to United Arab Emirates! That means Pakistan begins their home season and as we all know UAE is the place for it. Last England visited UAE to play against Pakistan. This time it is West Indies turn. West Indies tour of UAE contains all 3 formats, 3 T20I, 3 ODIs and 3 Test match series which starts with T20Is on Sep. 23, 2016 at Dubai.

West Indies T20I squad has well mixed of uncapped players and experienced players. The WT20 Champions recently won the T20 series vs India at Florida. That momentum will keep them to play some fearless cricket against Pakistan in this series. Lets check out West Indies T20 Squad Team Preview here.

West Indies T20 Squad – Player by Player Preview :

Carlos Brathwaite : 

WT20 Winning Captain Darren Sammy sidelined by WICB and they announced all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite as T20I Captain. Carlos captained the team in the 2 match series against India at Florida, USA last month. He made his T20I debut in 2011 against Bangladesh at Dhaka. He is one of the star performer in CPL. The hard hitting batsman played only 10 T20I till now. But, he made his impact already in World Cricket. He used to bowl Right Arm Fast-Medium and useful bowler for his team in the middle overs. Who do forget his 4 consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes in WT20 Final which brought the WC to his team! He should play well with both bat and bowl and also as a Captain.

Dwayne Bravo :

The Former Captain and the only bowler who picked 300+ wickets in T20 career DJ Bravo has huge role to play in this T20I series vs Pakistan. One of the Best All-rounder in the world, Bravo started his International Career in 2004 with the ODI match vs England. Later on he made his debut in Tests and T20Is. He used to dominate T20 Cricket with his both bowling and batting abilities. He is the most experienced All-rounder right now and he knew which delivery should bowl at which time and he deliver it with perfection. He is one of the reason for WI to shift WT20 titles 2 times in span of 4 years! Most valuable player in this Squad! About having him in your Fantasy team, I would say You must have him!

Johnson Charles :

Charles emerging as one of the dangerous opening batsman in T20 cricket at the moment. He played some good innings during WT20 back in March, 2016. He had amazing CPL season this year where he scored 441 runs in 11 innings with the High score of 94* and SR of 143! He shown his scintillating form at Florida, there he played 4 innings (2 innings in CPL and 2 against India) and scored 59, 64, 79 and 43 respectively. He also scored match winning 42 against Emirates Cricket board in a practice match on Tuesday. Guess that he will continue his good form and helps his team to put good score on the board. He deserved the place in your fantasy teams!

Andre Fletcher :

Fletcher is one of hard hitting batsman who also play the role of Wicket-keeper. He had scored 84* vs SL in WT20 league match but injury made him to sidelined. He return back in CPL this year and played some match winning knocks for his team. In this year CPL, he has scored total of 324 runs with the high score of 74*. He has big role to play in this series, not only as a top-order batsman but also with the gloves. In Fantasy concern, he is one of the important pick.

Evin Lewis :

The 24-year old Trinidad guy Evin Lewis made his debut vs Afghanistan in WT20 event. Till now he had played only 3 T20Is and he already stunned the Cricket world with T20I Century! It came against India at Lauderhill, Florida last month. Evin shown his hard hitting abilities in Caribbean Premier League where he scored 247 runs in 9 innings with the high score of 79. Once he sets well in the middle he used to play some attacking strokes. Keep him in your team if you are interested to go with unique picks!

Marlon Samuels :

The most experienced player in this West Indies Squad. He made his ODI and Test debuts during the year 2000. He made his T20I debut in 2007. Till the date, he has played 48 T20Is for his team and scored 1139 runs with high score of 85*. When ever the team needs, his experience comes into play. He won Man of the Match award in 2012 WT20 Final in Sri Lanka. He used to attacking cricket shots when its needed in T20. He is one of the important player in this squad who could bat well in Asian pitches!

Nicholas Pooran :

The 20-year old young man got his place in West Indies squad for the first time. He played for West Indies U-19 team, but now it’s his time to debut in WI main team. He is the uncapped player, but he proved his batting skills during CPL this year. He played 8 innings and scored 217 runs. His high score was 81 and SR were 197! He played well in the practice match against Emirates Cricket board on Tuesday and scored 47*. He is the player who start to play shots from first ball. Once he set, he will become a nightmare for Pakistan bowlers. He also do Wicket-keeper role.

Rovman Powell :

Another uncapped player in the squad, Roveman Powell had good CPL season recently. He played 12 innings and scored 228 with SR of 120. He played well in practice match by scoring 38 runs. If he get chance in Playing XI, he may create an impact and will help his team to win the game. He also bowl part time Medium-fast.

Chadwick Walton :

Walton has 2 T20I to his name. He made his T20I debut against Kiwis in 2014. He did not play any International T20 matches after that. So, this is his come back series. He played for Jamaica Tallawahs and opened the batting along with Chris Gayle. He scored 301 runs in 13 innings in this year CPL and his high score was 97. If he continues his good form in the top-order, would help his team score big total on the board. He is a wicket-keeper. Another Wicket-keeper option in this squad.

Kieron Pollard :

One of the hard hitting all-rounder in the world. Kieron played 324 T20 matches till now. He used to play many T20 tournaments around the globe. His overall T20 scores are 6311 with the best of 89*. He missed 2015-16 season due to injury. He came back with IPL 2016. He also had some good time during Tri-nation ODI series in June. Pollard bowl his Medium-fast in the mid-overs. He has 219 T20 wickets to his credit. For Fantasy teams, he may be the pick you needed!

Jason Holder :

The 24 year old ODI Captain, played only 4 T20I matches till now and he picked 5 wickets. He is dangerous batsman in the lower order. He can play big shots and he proved his batting abilities in the past. In his overall T20 career, he picked 54 wickets in 69 innings with the best figures of 4/27. His highest T20 score were 48 and he has SR of 126. May be he will sit out in this T20I series, if he get chance to play, he will show all-round performance for sure.

Sunil Narine :

The Magician of Spin bowling, Sunil Narine is ready to go. Narine is the only bowler who bowled maiden over in Super over! He has played 193 T20 matches overall and picked 241 wickets. He used to bowl various deliveries with his off-spin which makes the batsman trouble. Surely, he will be the trump card for WI in the shorter format. His best bowling figure in T20I are 4/12 and in overall T20 career its, 5/19. As fantasy concern, he deserved the place in every fantasy teams!

Jerome Taylor :

The experienced bowler, Jerome Taylor announced his test retirement two months ago and he still play in T20 format. He made his T20I debut in 2006. He has so many up and downs in his International career. He has played only 20 International T20 matches till date and he picked 24 wickets. His bowling figures are good in overall T20 career. His best figures are 5/10. He is the main seamer in this squad, so hopefully he will get a game and guess will show some effort with his fast bowling!

Samuel Badree :

The only Leg-spinner in the Squad. The Trinidad man, Badree made his T20I debut in the year 2012. He never played Test or ODI matches. In T20I, he has played 30 matches and picked 40 with the economy of 5.53 and his best figures are 4-15. He used to bowl in power-play overs. He may surprise everyone by collapsing Pakistan top-order with his leg spin.

Kesrick Williams :

Kesrick is an uncapped player. He has played total of 16 T20 matches and has 17 wickets to his name. He played for Jamaica Tallawahs in CPL and he had good season in 2016. He picked total of 16 wickets in this year CPL. He replaced Andre Russell in the squad on the last moment. Hope that he will get a game and will show his strength of bowling!
